he sold his super snake cobra last year at bj---$ 5 million....ya boss 302's and aar cuda's were stuck in the 10-20k range from the early 80s til the last few yrs...i guess you got a boss302?its amazing you didnt sell it...you couldnt be mad at yourself if you did because those and aar cudas seemed like nobody would ever want to pay decent bucks for em....most i saw were listed around 10-15k for the longest time...

With stagflation, putting money into a car may be the best investment. I am trying to figure out what to do with my money. The stockmarket is going down, inflation eats it in the bank and Im not ready to touch RE again yet.

  3. You forgot the Europeans and the favorable exchange rate.

  4. I'm watching this for the 3rd straight year and prices are way down from past years, especially the prime time cars. Jackson was almost begging to crowd to bid on Carrol Shelby's car and the Corvette concept car.

  5. The Duesie was expected to approach $2MM. Top bid was $1MM.

  7. Apparently so. The auction is doing very poorly.

I've had a vested interest in these cars for years and am quite pleased at what I have seen. Mr. Shelby's car went for 675 k, a Boss 429 brought 325 k with a 302 boss going for 120. Still 2 boss 9's left to bid on...

Seems soft to me... HEMI CUDAS are getting crushed-today they had 1 that went for 165k and another for 245k thats at min. 50% less than last year...even 440-6pak challenger went for 78k and a convertible one for 130k-that is 50% off...58-62 vettes are double almost while mid 60s vettes are getting softer at 150-200k vs last yr 200-250k...I saw a 1969 shelby going for 60k earlier this week. which is half off.A 65gt350 however went for 410k today. So it seems like the money is shifting around and looking to chase the next hot thing.

I havent watched it all day today but the prices seem softer than last year and their is no craziness like last year....I didnt see many z28 and camaros unlike last years flood....you can see how the money is flowing out of some models and into 50s cars etc.....2yrs ago nobody was interested in 50s cars and now they are paying 200-300k for buick skylarks and such!I think these people will be feeling like the guys who bought hemi cudas last yr.

A couple of the big bidders that have been there every year are absent this yr.
Whats ironic is that dude who buys all the million dollar cars, owns a huge home building business with pulte(he's there this yr also-he always sits up front...ron pratt).I think he s holding up prices but dont know how much he will feel like spending going forward given the state of the housing industry.

Probably is a rotation type of thing just like the stock market. Bidders saw the Hemi's go for outrageous amounts in the past and now are looking at Ford's hemi - the Boss 429. I imagine lot 1329 will bring a nice price, let' see.
