Not sure regarding 1, but 2 until present: Moderate on top, token conservative as VP. Worked for Bush 2 first time (just barely), but didn't work for McCain, wonât work for Romney. When Reagan, a conservative, was on top it was a landslide. I won't count the second term for Bush 2 due to the circumstances at the time.
Reagan was a fiscal RINO. He raised taxes when he had to, and deficit outspent every president before him.
True, but I'm talking social, not fiscal. I can't remember having a fiscally conservative republican prez in my lifetime.
