BAN semi-automatic weapons

  1. Now I know your kidding.. be serious.

YOU know as well as I do that no one NEEDS fully auto for self defense. Since by your lack of answer I know you tacitly agree with this...

Now, why do we need semi-auto RIFLES for self defense? Not talking about handguns but semi-auto rifles. You've agreed no one needs fully auto 'anything" for self defense, and that's pretty obvious to any rational person anyway.

Semi-auto hanguns, maybe? Semi-Auto RIFLE, I don't see the need, do you

  3. I agree with all this but the question remains do we need semi-auto RIFLES for self defense? Why is it so hard for you to say either "yes" or "no"?

I'm for removing NEEDLESS potentially dangerous weapons off the street. Who needs this freaking gun so let's get rid of it. BOLT ACTION is all anyone might need for sport or the occasional self defense. We should probably get rid of the "lever" action too as it promotes excessive rapid fire?

I believe in being trained with weapons, but for those who aren't crack marksman with a pistol, they will have a much better chance of hitting their assailants at medium to close range with a rifle than with a pistol...or better yet, a semi-auto shotgun.

Responsible ownership should not be restricted. Responsible gun owners don't carry their rifles in the street. And it is their business, not yours, if they wish to use them to defend their homes and families.

Do you really believe that banning these weapons will make you safer? Can I interest you in a bridge?

  5. I get the distict feeling that you are saying "Don't ban anything. If we can get our hands on every weapon that came down the pike we'd all be much safer"

Are you saying that NO weapon should be banned? Access to all results in greater safety? Are there any banned weapons that you agree with (Two reasonable men trying to find some common ground)

I have named pistols, shotguns, and rifles. Not sure where you get the idea that I indicate no weapons should be banned. I have made the case for not banning the weapons you wish to see banned. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you were to say some gun owners should be banned from owning, there would be common ground.

  7. Okay, I'm convinced. Everyone should open carry an Uzi or two. Spray your problems away. And don't underestimate the persuasive value of a grenade launcher.

  8. I get the distinct feeling these guys think that if we pass out uzi's to everyone somehow we all get a lot safer. that;s insane

  9. You've obviously never had varmints eating your crops or had coyotes chasing down your cattle or sheep.
