BAN semi-automatic weapons

Discussion in 'Politics' started by killthesunshine, Feb 24, 2010.

  1. It is not specifically a fear of guns. Rather, it is an apprehension regarding the people who feel compelled to own concealable or semi-automatic guns in particular, and guns in general. I don't like hunting. I went as a kid once, and it will never happen again. I cannot relate to the people who like it.

  2. The constitution says nothing about hunting, hunters have NO rights to hunt. The 2nd amendment is about testosterone and being a patriot. And of course a well regulated militia, NOT a gun club for sportsmen, target shooting contest my a$$. Anyone in a gun club should turn in their NRA card.

  3. I don't need to vouch for anyone. If my neighbor or the guy up the street legally owns a gun, then he/she underwent a criminal background check to get it. Look at the statistics. People who own guns legally are less likely to commit crimes than the general population. When states like Florida made gun ownership easier and started issuing concealed carry permits to law-abiding citizens, legal gun ownership increased and crime rates, including murder, went down.

  5. Can you see how this statement is a product of statistical gymnastics?

  6. Then you DO agree that guns should be restricted to "fit" people only?

Now, do you also agree with the FULL AUTO ban even for the "fit" that have passed background checks?

  7. Can you see that there's a difference between a law-abiding citizen with a gun and criminal with a gun? Can you see that laws against gun ownership punish law-abiding citizens and reward criminals?

And, by the way, there is no statistical gymnastics. The statistic is a result of "self-selection" by legal gun owners who choose to be law-abiding citizens. The choice to be law-abiding is good thing.

Oh I get the point, you got NOTHING!

So let me guess, on those extraordinarily rare occasions you do get a date (with a female) do you rummage through her bedroom looking for weapons while she's in the bathroom?

  9. A "semi-auto" ban goes to the same question as the already existing "fully-auto_ ban...why do even the "fit" that have passed the background checks need that kind of KILL-POWER?

Someone said here that full auto has been banned since 1986?.. goes to show how effective a BAN is because fully atuo is very rare sight these days. So over time bans DO work!
