State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby told the newspaper that prosecutors "have a duty to ensure a fair and impartial process for all parties involved" and "will not be baited into litigating this case through the media." Funny, that's all this woman has been doing until now.
For those that do not believe, merely watch to see. Watch as these cops are freed. Watch as Baltimore burns and the administration refuses to call in the guard. Watch as the white people flee, businesses close, "food deserts" set in, and liberals blame the rayciss white folks who left for the woes of Baltimore.
And all that will happen right before the Presidential elections. Dems need a good racist story and burning/looting to fire up their parasite base to get out and vote.
You may be right as a matter of florida law, i can't say, but I would caution people that this varies from state to state. In many states, you do not have the right to use deadly force just because someone is in your house, even if he has committed a crime. You have to have a reasonable fear of serious bodily harm. You can't shot someone to stop them from stealing your car in the driveway, for example. Even in castle doctrine states, if he is fleeing your house, ie heading for a door or window , you are inviting trouble if you shoot him.
No kidding. She is a wretched excuse for a public official and a warning for what you are letting yourself in for if you move to a city where that is what gets elected. The WashPost was full of glowing stories about her after she indicted those cops.
They should have been indicted. It is blatantly clear that the black cop who was the ringleader is racist. He should be charged with a hate crime.
I can tell you I've had this conversation with a lot of Sheriffs here in Tampa. There is a lot of latitude a homeowner has when his property is being stolen. A lot. Bodily harm or the threat of it is not a requirement.
Like I said, state laws differ. It won't be the county sheriff who decides if you get prosecuted either. It could be some highly political state's attorney like that miserable hack who prosecuted Zimmerman in a clearcut self-defense situation. If someone has broken into your house, it's one thing. If they are trying to steal your car in the driveway, it's a far different situation in most states. You are not allowed to use deadly force to protect property. If they have broken into your house and stolen stuff and you catch them as they are trying to climb out a window, you are taking a big legal risk in most states if you shoot them. I am not saying it is right or wrong. i just don't want people getting prosecuted by some anti-gun jackass DA.
In Colorado, it's generally accepted.... if you shoot someone on your porch, be sure to drag his body inside the front door. How about this.... "If you don't want to be shot and killed, DON'T BE A CRIMINAL!" (Personally, I don't believe criminals deserve anywhere near the slack they are accorded. I know, you're a racist if you don't give a minority a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc., chance to "see the light", be rehabilitated and stop his criminal ways.)
