    • Baidu still dominated China search market with 73.2% in 2008 versus Google China’s 20.7% market share in terms of total search queries by users.
    • With the de facto monopoly (over 90%) of Chinese search market by Baidu and Google, smaller players are trying to make some inroads by providing differentiated search services such as dedication to developing vertical searches.
    • However, Baidu sees some pulling back in users loyalty, which dropped to 39.9% in 2008 from 41.5% in 2007.
    • Baidu continued control on music search with dominant share of 94.3% in 2008.
