  4. What's the fed tax rate on 100k trading profits when living & trading in U.S., before you claim all that you can, like home office, etc?

  5. The max rate is around 35%, not sure at just $100K ...

  6. Just wondering if there is anyone interested in moving to the Bahamas in which case we could get in touch.

I thought it could be interesting to share a large house there with other traders. We could also learn from each other. I am always interested in adding profitable strategies to those I trade, as I get really bored sometimes. I am a 28 yo European(not French btw), I enjoy quiet and need a disciplined lifestyle- I guess I can be a bit of a pain sometimes :) . I am also interested in meeting Canadians and Europeans there . PM me if you want to get in touch.

  7. I just moved to Freeport 2 months ago, much thanks to metooxx for showing me around town when I first got here. I am renting a duplex house here 2 minutes walk to the beach. I am not looking for any room-mates, but am happy to talk with other traders. And if you come to Bahamas, we could of course meet.

That's funny, you specifically stating that you are NOT French. I'm Canadian, and I am not from the French part of Canada either, so I know what you mean.

As for Europeans, there's lots of those here, plenty of people from UK it seems.

Send me a message sometime (my email on this system isn't connected anymore since I left Canada ).

well, i think the missus and i have decided to make the leap late this year. we're initially looking at these properties (please comment if you know anything about them!):

    http://www.hgchristie.com/Listings/Rentals/

    units: gb083r, gb480r, gb469r

ideally we want to be on the ocean, so we chose these places. a house seems a bit too expensive just yet, but we haven't ruled that out...

now i just need to find a good tax man to convert my cap gains into earned income for me and my girl, and find out how to move there!

any help will be much appreciated :) i think i probably will visit sometime late summer to make a decision...anyone want to host me and show me around?

    take it easy....

how hard is it to gain a visa to the bahamas? or can i just leave every 8 months? this is what the bahamas.com site says:

"To enter The Bahamas, U.S. citizens need one of the three documents listed below, accompanied by a return or onward journey ticket and proof of funds to support the visit. Stays not to exceed eight months."

can i just take the CAT to ft. lauderdale for the day? let me know what you guys/girls do....

    thx

p.s. don't you need to have residency in bahamas to get the foreign exemption? thus, wouldn't you need to have a visa?
