I hate when we get bad numbers messing up all the charts. Yesterday's close is still shown as 26.08, really screws up all the indicators and MA. Like to hear from you guys on how you handle it. Do you just go with the chart or do you make your own calculations of where it should actually be.

Call the data vendor and ask them to fix the bad tick (unless you're using data that is stored on your computer). In that case, you would need to correct the bad tick manually.

  3. depending on what software you're using, you may be able to erase a bad tick with ease. Try right clicking on the bar...or if you can get each trades in a window for that bar, you can erase that bad tick. I know you can do it on Realtick.
    Good luck.

I know TradeStation has a Data Integrity Department, or somebody that removes Bad Ticks. Bloomberg also removes bad prints. Most bad ticks usually go away when the order gets booked into the customer's account and is off by a whole Dollar!
