Bad Economics: College degree’s & Income inequality

Discussion in 'Economics' started by Innervoice, Feb 14, 2023.

  1. Income inequality is a complex issue that cannot be solely attributed to education or major choice. While trade jobs may be a good option for some, a college education can still provide valuable skills and job opportunities. Ultimately, individuals should make informed decisions based on their interests and career goals.

You are totally missing the point ! My post was about students who choose majors with useless degrees and cannot make enough money to pay off their college loans. Further, this enables spoiled college students to claim “ income inequality”.. Its not income inequality, its poor decion making by not choosing a major that pays more. Too many useless sociology and communication majors..
By the way, why is the government through tax payers subsidizing these useless degrees !

Of course he doesn't. The guy regurgitates radical right vomit without any effort to research their statements.
Anyone who suggests education is pointless is an imbecile.

how is this racial, no one mentioned race except you. Bottom line, poor decision making results in useless college degrees in communications and sociology. Sorry but its true and the facts dont lie.
If one person makes a responsible choice and chooses a challenging major that is in demand such as engineering or finance he is rewarded by getting a much higher paying job than someone who chooses an easy/ useless major such as communications or sociology. Of course the person making the irresposnibile decision to choose communications or sociology will cry “ income inequality”.

I didn't make a race connection, you did.

You've decided that some college degrees are useless and, by your definition, only college degrees that are challenging and lead to high income are useful. In your world no one is educated beyond high school, except for those smart enough to attend Finance College of America or School of American Engineers, the ticket to wealth.

I suspect you're an engineer. A mediocre engineer who is overwhelmed by non practical complexities.

You're assuming people go to college to be an employee. Can you sight these facts that don't lie?

Well, I can tell you that your sentence should read "Can you cite these facts that don't lie?"

I never went to college. Did that help?
