Backtesting - what do I need?

looks like tradestation is still considered among the best.

 

I first tested systems on Lotus 123. When SystemWriterPlus (dos precursor to Tradestation) came out, I thought I was at the gates of heaven.

 

I agree.

Evaluating systems against a couple thousand symbols over varying periods requires more oomph than I've been able to extract from spreadsheets.
