I am looking into some back testing programs right now and automation. Here is the list of what I have found that looks good. http://www.strategyrunner.com/Content/TradingSystems_WhyTradingSystems.php http://www.tradebolt.com/ http://www.tradestation.com/automated_trading/howitworks.shtm http://www.trade-ideas.com/OddsMaker/
Well, you've got an odd collection of stuff there. Tradestation - strategy building, backtesting (not at a portfolio level), Trade-Ideas - pattern recognition, alerts, Tradebolt/Strategyrunner - automation services for order routing. What are you looking for?
I looked at TradeDecision a few months ago. It was extremely unstable especially when used with a real-time feed like e-signal. That could be a good reason for not allowing trials. Just my experience of course. Others may have had a better experience. -eLindy
The real-time quotes lagged severely or simply crashed the product. It lost workspaces/files. I had to shutdown and restart the product countless times because of various random stability issues. All were reported and supposedly fixed but I didn't like being a beta tester and I didn't re-test any updated versions. On a subjective basis there were a lot of usability "flaws" as well. But, like I said, that's more of a subjective thing... -eLindy
That doesnt suprise me...It appears that the companies that dont have Demos, are not ready for prime time..If I knew my product kicked ass,i would want as many people to check it out... Sounds like an EOD product at the current time, with an option to upgrade
Take a look at www.seertrading.com This is a relatively new product that currently has only an EOD version, but a R/T version with automation is due next year. It has TRUE portfolio level analysis - multiple systems sharing one account. On a portfolio backtest, it tests each symbol for a bar before moving on to the next bar for each symbol. It is very fast, very robust and they offer a 30 day free trial.
I started out with TradeStation to see if they had portfolio level testing and it looks like they don't. I was sort of giving the play by play. Strategy runner looks interesting I am still investigating. The Trade-Ideas stuff looks interesting too because I can back test portfolio level with by building a system with their alerts and using Odds Maker. Interesting stuff. The Tradebolt was a way that I am looking to automate what I find works.
Look at the site: http://avis-c.gluk.org Described system Artificial Foreteller is based on neural network that is trained at historical data. It generates sell/buy signal by analyzing previous 15-20 ticks.
