johno when you are short and the market rallies you buy calls.. or sell puts which are covered by your shorts.. wtf.. man this stuff is basic.. or you buy other stocks that are correlated with your current holdings .. i.e. short walmart... mkt moves higher maybe buy the company target.. it is pretty simple really HOWEVER, MOST ON THIS SITE JUST SIGN UP FOR A NEW PAPER TRADING ACCOUNT LOL
