What is your salary expectation for the job that you are seeking after you graduate with an MBA?

What is your 5 yr career goal after you get such job ?

  4. Do you have any software experience? You could look at working for companies that provide trading platforms or risk management software. Bloomberg, Open Link, Triple Point, etc.

  5. Its like this...

New York area...unemployment in the 8s and 9s. Hard to find work....

Austin and Midwest unemployment in the 4s and 5s. Jobs everywhere.

Socal...Irvine not much better than NYC but less unemployment and better weather.

Boston and northern virginia like Austin...

No use in trying to find an oasis in a desert. Just relocate or accept a job in the places with lots of jobs. Go to Texas. Give it a 3 month try and you can always quit and come back if the three month try fails. NYC is like Silicon Valley after the tech bust. It may take decades to get back to sub 5 percent unemployment but sub 5 is happening in Texas right now. No need to wait. Irvine I would move to in a heartbeat. Best public school system in the country. Lexington Mass great school system too.

I know you love New York but you cant put life on hold waiting for the recovery...it may never recover or go back to the days you remember. Just pack the car and move while you still have cash and your youth.

  7. I would be very open to move but my wife works in NYC, all the voice-over studios and employers are here (or in LA). And she makes quite a bit of money so asking her to give that up is not really an option unfortunately. I have to be in NYC or surrounding areas for a bit.

  9. True but the wife hates LA. Still, depending on the opportunity presented to me, I'm sure she'd be open.
