  1. Got a job writing for a content provider for yahoo finance. My first assignment was interviewing hedge fund managers, top traders , economists, etc. First interview, I picked up the phone and called Jim Rogers, next Victor Niederhoffer, untill I talked with 80 plus of the top guys in the business-- made personal friends with a few of them--- i was hired--- thus my start in the biz.
A few guys i met right here on elite trader--- some connections were lucrative, a few not so much, but all great learning experiences.

  3. This thread made my day thank you.

As more and more people leave trading, I love reading their stories of trying to re adjust to real life. One common thread seems to exist: they cant.

  4. How about you? Are you adjusting, or are you one of the many who can't.

  7. Just read this thread back Steve and I think it will help a lot. Working on an algo for 4 years? Want an execution or trading related job that pays well in NYC? Someone gives you a lead on a prop firm that might be making money with a specific strategy and you want to apply there? Honestly just think about it and be realistic.

  8. He said this:

"I realize that an MBA is a different type of credential not specifically related to trading, but my hope is that it will make me more well-rounded, in the eyes of potential employers. As I mentioned, I would certainly like to get back into trading or a related field but am open to other opportunities as well. "

Sounds like he is open to things OTHER than just trading. Did you read the thread yourself?

  9. Jesus, how do you find my posts so quickly?

Everyone says they are open to other fields, but the second someone mentions a trading job a prop place hes already in contact with them. He did not mention being in contact with anyone else regarding non financial jobs so I think its quite obvious where his allegiances lie.

  10. Here's a hint: When you POST in most forums, that thread goes to the TOP of the homepage. I know, pretty amazing stuff.
