OK Guys (Gals), Thanks for all of your replys.

I think we have a crossection after about 1200 views,
60 plus votes........
Approx 2 with No Military Experience
For every 1 with Military Experience..........at this time...

Wonder what all the 1100 did ? Ha.

I will let this thread now pass away - it's purpose met....
It was to give me some idea of who I was talking to here on ET.

Absolutely! But since I wasn't a trader at that time I can't say it affects my trading. It may, I just can't say how. I know my wife is complaining the last few days that I am too "somber". Maybe that is a consequence. But yes, the experience profoundly changed me.

I looked and voted, though I wasn't actually in the service myself, my Dad was. The family kind of serves too. Dad was West Point, but went Air Force (no Air Academy yet). He served in Viet Nam when I and my brother were young.

I was the first male in my immediate family not to go into the service. But by being family, you know the people who are called to serve and a bit on how the military works.

Not sure that it affects my trading. But it does affect my views on the military and war/aggression/violence. I think you get a more complete picture of the world knowing people personally who keep the peace, from police to military. They are put at risk every day. I think many folks aren't really aware of why we enjoy the freedoms we have.

I hope no-one mistakes that for me being pro-war. I'm not. I guess I'm neutral on this war. I feel that freedom actually has as much to do with free markets as law and order.

8. it's the 80/20 rule at work again. The 80% enjoy the fruits of the sacrifice of the 20% (roughly speaking).

O, incidintally... a picture's worth a thousand words... even a thousand and three.
America responds to the Axis of Weasels.

I'd add Russia and China to that list.

With all deference, of course, to my French, German, Russian and China friends -- who love America and what we stand for. And pity for the rest.

Once a Marine, always a Marine. Big salute to all other Jarheads on this board and in the field.

Thanks, not too many places where we were welcomed. Especially at squid inhabited bars. :D
