Don't quote me but I think if they are found not guilty or any other bs except guilty in a civil trial the next step is a military trial. These guys are not going anywhere.
The Justice Department is doing the right thing here, and I see nothing wrong with this at all. Giving the accused his day in court- no matter how heinous or vile the alleged offense, is simply the American thing to do.
For what it's worth. Lindsey Graham on Miranda Rights... He posed very good questions to Eric Holder. Worth the 6 minutes to watch his questioning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B5bkzypa6Y&feature=player_embedded
I think this article is important for the message it sends to the world ---- We are a nation of law. Imo, we are trying to prove this point boldly hence the trial in NYC. What is the real reason though? Prosecution is not our priority these days, prevention is our priority. Our weapon on the war on terror is focused on prevention and to accomplish this effectively? Questionable legal tactics. So while this "nation of law" is on display via a public prosecution trial, there is much not to like with the patriot act etc without a firm basis on law, that perhaps the gov't hopes we (or the world) will overlook because of the civilian trial.
