  1. I'll tell ya what, I went to posting my trades live in my journal this week, and it worked wonders for my trading. It kept me from doing a lot of stupid shit, no other way to say it.

    BigPunkin,

Good catch on the alternate formula. There's a typo in the excel workbook and the alternate formula should be divided by 4. :)

It's set up to calculate pivot by summing the H,L,C and dividing by 3 as this is the standard calculation. However, you can adjust it to your preference.

Hopefully it'll work wonders for me too!

As of now, this market activity is dull and the range on ES is tight. Maybe in the afternoon we'll get more action.

I took today relatively slow with my live trade. Had some technical problems with my internet connection early on.

Trade#1 – Took small divergence short, entered relatively on time after long down candle confirmation. Price never pierced it’s prior low at 10:00 EST of 1140 and bounced off it several times. I should have covered on that first reversal signal but didn’t (poor management). I later had internet connection problems and covered my short 2 hours later.
*Short 1141.00 - 10:28 EST Stop: 1144 Target: below the open
    *Cover 1140.50 - 12:43 EST [ P/L: + 0.50 ]

  6. Hello Awash.

Do you use trendlines or moving averages on your entry timeframe and/or a larger timeframe for insight on direction/support/resistance ?

Better day but I wasn’t flawless with my entries and exits, tomorrow’s another day.

Trade#1 – (PAPER) Wanted to test the strength of the previous low, got short on time but we didn’t breakdown below 1146. Covered trade and wanted to regroup for another similar setup. However I failed to reenter on the next attempt and we broke through 1146 heading down to S1 (my initial target).
    *Short 1147.25 - 12:37 EST Stop: 1150.75 Target: 1143.50
    *Cover 1146.75 - 12:43 EST [ P/L: + 0.50 ]

Trade#2 – (LIVE) We broke my down TL and I got long off a nice divergence signal on a higher low pattern. I was a bit premature with my entry but it was worth the risk. My target was my pivot at 1149 but some negative divergence started to form so I decided to exit thinking it would be best to reenter on the next signal.
    *Long 1144.50 - 14:24 EST Stop: 1142 Target: 1149
    *Exit 1146.50 - 14:43 EST [ P/L: + 2 ]

Trade#3 – (LIVE) Reentered long after price bounced off S1 again, however I was late by 1.25 points and I ended up giving back all my gains and then some in under 15 minutes. It pays to be on time and not to hesitate!!! Hopefully I’ll get better with my entries and won’t hesitate next time. In hindsight, I should have stayed away from this trade as NQ was a lot weaker and wasn’t following through to the upside like ES.
    *Long 1146.00 - 15:10 EST Stop: 1142 Target: 1149
    *Exit 1143.75 - 15:23 EST [ P/L: - 2.25 ]

    Stopped trading at 15:25 EST!
