Well now if one wanted to know what the "Bible" had to say about "abortion", what words might one use in order to find out?
I did some research and came up with this: What the Bible says about Abortion Abortion is not murder. A fetus is not considered a human life. If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed. -- Numbers 5:21-21, 27-28 God's law sometimes requires the execution (by burning to death) of pregnant women. Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. The first quote seems to say that the mother's life is more valuable than the unborn baby's. That seems a far cry from saying God approves of abortion. The ones about not valuing babies less than a month old, etc probably just reflect the high infant mortality rates of the era rather than any moral judgment. Similarly the quote about executing women who were not virgins. This is the Old Testament and the section dealt with executing enemies. No males were to be spared, even in the womb.
If the "saying" part refers to me, that's not what I said. Evaluate the material without prejudice. But kudos for actually looking it up.
The whole analysis is bs from the start. It says 'what the bible says about abortion' and then it doesn't say a single thing about abortion. Miscarriage is not abortion. And i don't care what atheist can be sited that says it is. They are not the same thing. In addition, everyone was guilty under the old testament after the law was given, and without the system of animal blood sacrifices, everyone deserved to die.
Again, what I said was "I was interested in learning that the Bible doesn't consider a baby to be a living being until it has taken its first breath after the birth process. Not only that, it provides instructions for inducing miscarriage." What others take away from what they read is entirely theirs. But since AAA is the only one who's bothered, there isn't likely to be much discussion, if any.
