In each hedge fund, bank or hft firm there are a number of guys who have not an inkling of knowledge of brokers and broker apis. Jeff possesses a lot of domain knowledge and that is what his employer hired him for. Does that make it clearer? And most of his former startups did not turn a dime else he would not be toiling at a hedge fund as a salaried guy.
You may want to first try reading posts accurately rather than injecting your wild interpretations. I have known Jeff longer than you have ever heard his name.
Just playing devil's advocate here, but isn't it suspicious that the world's largest market maker decided to hire a guy who maintains software used by their counterparties? Incentives, guys. Only the paranoid survive!
I think you misunderstood. My post was in reference to using IBrokers as a front end which is not feasible. I also automate through IB, but with a stable front end. I have nothing bad to say about the IB API structure.
