Thanks for the question. But why didnt you visit the ATC site? As we always said: ATC is a Research. If you got some questions i`d recommend you to visit ATC site News section. There are many materials and the answer to your question is published too: http://championship.mql4.com/2007/news/335 If answer briefly, 17% were "in plus" after three months of trading. All the rest "in minus" or with zero-profit. Just read the article. Have a luck in trading!
Talking about absolute profits is misleading, it should be in the context of risk eg. drawdown or some other risk metric. Plenty of FX traders made 10000% annualized returns but then lost it all and way more with a few bad trades (Collective2 has dozens of traders like this). It's really not hard to over-leverage and show impressive results for a brief period, consistency is the issue.

read somewhere participants are not allowed to give dll files but must submit ex files which could be easily decompiled... organisers sure know how to gather good programs to counterstudy, they are brokers afterall. There are EAs that are just trade signal receiver from the provider through the internet...which have no trading system at all.... wonder are these EAs allowed and are already in the tournament?
So, it is possible that they will use participant's algorithm to counter them in the future right?, I mean, if your algorithm is so successful, u do not need to participate in the first place because u could do much, much better that the prize granted. That means I do not believe that the really excellent algo will show up in this tournament.
Hard to say whether there would be excellent EAs or not but the contestants will try to impress by overleveraging and hope to be selected to manage funds later which is much better than the prize.
Better is back, woooo great news, thanks Fat it'll be interesting seeing how his new Expert does in a down mkt
