Austin Passamonte Challenges all at ET to a $10K entry fee Contest!

Discussion in 'Hook Up' started by version77, Sep 10, 2006.

  1. Very lame. The measure of the best trader is not highest net profit, even as a percentage of account size. With that logic someone as lucky as a lotto winner will win, making this little more than a contest of luck.

The winner will be someone who takes incredibly stupid high risk trades and gets just plain lucky.

The only thing I want to base the results on is actual statements from our clearing firm that will be audited. Showing picture of P&L window is not real results. In my TT fill window one can put manual fills in that will inflate the results so I want the results based on actual statements.

OddTrader, I have nothing but positive things to say about TT, they are great company with many positives and I'm sure like any company they have things they can improve on. I doubt the manual fill capability has anything to do with vendors etc... But I just want to make sure that the challenge is based on the thing that matters and that is actual statements. If one is a good trader they have no problem showing statements in a challenge that you put up 10k to enter.

  7. trimble, I hear you - FT71 is one of the best here. Too bad he doesn't post as much as he used to. He helped me personally via PM on two occasions, apparently because he felt that it was worth his time, for some reason, even though I could give him nothing in return. Nice to hear that you spent time with him.

Again, best of luck to you. The OP has his takers, now lets see how things go.

  9. Dear Trimble,

First let me say I enjoyed your PM and am pleased to meet your accquaintance. You are part of the vast, silent majority here that everyone could learn a lot from.

It'll be a pleasure trading with you, and I accept conditionally as well.

This contest offer <b>must include</b> at least one of the vocal minority who have nagged me like magpies for months. The purpose of this call-out was exactly that... a call-out to stop the nonsense you've seen first-hand yourself.

I reached my limit of tolerance for such insanity here when StockGirl got flummoxed mercilessly on her first posts in the prior thread linked in this one.

The last straw was reading the very first post from a newbie in another thread where he apologized first for his lack of knowledge and begged not to get flamed like everyone usually does. What the hell is that about? Is this what Baron had in mind when forming the site?

    Enough is enough.

So, let any one of my baseless detractors toss their hat in with us, and we're on. I accept under that lone condition, it's a simple & clear one. Trimble, I'm quite sure one or more of them will step well before 10/01. Why wouldn't they?

There will be no free ride for those referenced to watch without unleashing a dog in the hunt. Trimble, you've been here much longer than me and you full-well know what the spirit of this offer is.

    **

That's my condition for the challenge at hand. Absolutely no problem posting broker statements... I wouldn't have it any other way. Monthly compilation statements, permission to speak with my broker... no sweat. Any contest I do, that's part of the plan.

Trimble, if one of the detractors do not ante up, all is not lost. I'd be thrilled if you'd join me in a much more interesting event here inside ET.

2007 is the 20th anniversary of Larry Williams $10k to $1.1mil run in the WorldCup contest. That is really what started me down this path of professional trading. All this time I've always had a deep desire to attempt Larry's record roll.

This year has been spent getting ready to give it a go. I've traded the ES/ER in combination for one reason only: it will require ES contract size to pyramid an account large enough to make that goal possible. The ER will max out size way too soon.

    **

I will do one of two things: officially enter the WC contest and post results in here, or trade a personal account from $10k on 1/02/07 all year long and track results in here. The WC entry is dependent on commission costs for such intraday turns... the current $20 per emini contract is prohibitive.

Trimble, I'd be absolutely thrilled if you trade the same contest / event in public fashion thru next year. I'm going to do it alone or along with anybody willing, and I'm doing it right in here.

If you are up for a friendly challenge like that, it would be my great pleasure to have the motivation & comraderie.

I'm very sure that Larry's record number is within reach... done a lot of calculating with real-time results and am confident enough to make a serious run. The only variable that would pose great challenge is a return of extremely low ranges and volatility intraday. Index market action remains same or better than year 2006 has been, we're good to go.

If you'd like to give Larry's 20yr record a run, welcome aboard! If we fail miserably and only take our accounts up 2,000% instead of 10,000% like he did, I'd still live with that <laugh>

So... give us one of the vocal minority to show me up, and we'll treat 10/01 ~ 12/15 contest like a tuneup for the big show less than four short months away. If it's just you & me with the lurkers safely perched on the sideline, I'll see you the first session in January thru the last session in December 2007.

Neither of us are going anywhere, and the lurkers here have been picking at me longer than 2007 is away from today. One of the vociferous detractors will either join us, or everyone waits until the 2007 quest begins..

You sure made life a lot more interesting indeed. Thank you for that! I look forward to working with you soon

    Best Trading Wishes,
    Austin
