So let me get this straight. 1) The percentage gains dictate the winner. Not the $ gain? 2) The account has to have at least $25k? 3) The money will be held in escrow by riskarb? 4) Real broker statements will be posted and audited by a firm? 5) You can trade anything you want? 6) There is a $10k entry fee? 7) If this is a trading contest vs austinp, are we also competing against each other, or just austinp? Is this correct? nitro
Austin, it appears that you started this challenge to silence any ET posters who have given you flack in the past. I hate to break it to you but even if this contest does take place(highly unlikely given past experience on ET) and even if you happen to win it, you will continue to receive the same treatment on here as long as people know you are a vendor and as long as your success isnt documented/proved. A 2 month contest to highest % gains hardly achieves that. As some posters already mentioned, revealing past performance will be a much better way to gain respect, if that is infact what you are after. Anything short of that is just a publicity stunt and nothing else. Admittedly, this thread has a certain entertaining value though.
I believe that Austin is requiring at least one of the people always attacking him to participate. Since those guys are either small traders or don't trade at all I doubt we will have a contest, or ever would have. That's too bad. This could be very informative, as finally some of the ET'ers that everyone assumes are so successful would be putting their internet reputations on the line. I hope this is a sincere deal for all involved and would challenge some of the so called heavy hitters here to jump on board.
Change the contest to.... (1) $1,000,000 trading account (2) 1 year time frame With independent auditor, I'm in.
You'd be hard pressed to beat'em. After having read through all of these posts and slept on it, first-off, since I stated it in public I'd like to apologize in public for calling Austin P a shill, huckster and con-boy (well, I didn't call'em the last one), he most definitely is not any of the above. Having been conned, I'm naturally suspicious of anyone with vendor affiliation, but I guess he just likes working with traders and getting paid for it. What he actually has done (and what I'm always hoping for, but he has far exceeded my expectations) is delivered one of the most powerful pieces of the puzzle to successful intra-day trading that I've ever seen. My Mini alluded to it (but wouldn't go into the details), but Austin (or should I say Mr. Passamonte?) has pretty much laid it out at the feet of any ET'er who can see it, hell he's done everything but draw the paint-by-numbers diagram. *** Ultimately , while it was very unlikely that it would have happened, even if it did, Austin never would have lost the challenge, even if he didn't win it, he wouldn't have lost it. It's the same with his trading. *** Getting beat is fine, it was 14 years after getting routed at the Battle of Ticinus that Scipio used Hannibals own tactics to best him at the Battle of Zama. Not that I'll be trying to best Austin (or anyone else here), I'll be too busy trading, which he is doing now BTW. Best Regards All, Jimmy Jam P.S. I'll be sending'em a PM apologizing and thanking him as well.
