I lost 50 pips on this monkey.

ANy way, Is there a rumor on interest rate hike in AUD? now that usd is unchanged ? I think aud interest rate is wayyyy better than aud so i am not sure If it would it be more important than the trade balance ?

if trade balance is not good, but interest rate on rumor is to be hiked, then what ? or even as is ...what do you think ( i am trading audusd by the way )

I am a tech trader for the most part- but i like to know a bit of the fundi side on this.

It will depend on how bad (or good) the trade numbers versus how likely (or unlikely) a rate hike. Keep in mind, too, that the former is more influential long term; the latter short-term. How bad or how likely to the trade numbers and the chances of a rate hike have to go in order to move the AUD, well, that's what trading is all about, plus, and I am not sure if you are trading cash Forex or AUD futures, but there is also stuff like bank flows and basis trading that come into play.

    I trade spot fx.

I understand...will see what it will do on this news (trade balance).

right now i got caught in a trap ( hedged situation ) long @ 7761 (hedge), and short @ 7737...just decided to do it instead of SL all together. This happend because i made a wrong decition during last couple of days and here i am.

I am waiting for the news to stop one and see if it gives pips on the other to break even or some profit lol.

or else i will loose max of 30 pips almost since i have a stop (real stop this time ) set up after i close one of my hedge to make sure the other does not go against me after hedge is closed - all this during the news.

Hoping news will move in any direction. Basicaly i will straddle my hedge with SL.

Wondering where i need to concentrate my closing position.

But then again - this is news trade , a trap i got caught in the middle of fishing pips in calm weather...so no one knows where the wave will hit now eh ?

i am not a news trader, so we will see what happens.

    wish meee goood luck :)

Ok, good luck mate. I gotta tell you, having been burned so many times in futures, I am loath to do Forex, although I am tempted by extreme conditions from time to time; The GBP/US is getting there. I will go into the currency options market, however. Unfortunately, there isn't any liquidity in AUD/US options, at least not futures options, using an electronic US broker.

On MetaTrader was stopped out, bid went to 0.7713, futuresoure bid went to 0.7714, and would you believe it, finspreads trading 2 pips higher than metatrader so just stayed in with one pip to go.

In theory I know I should be out on this one so if it makes it to my target it will taste that bit sweeter :)

  10. Yeahh. And I bet AUD is gonna fall. Long term down trend, that is.

NZD has been a very good US DOLLAR INDICATOR for the last 0.5year. And now NZD has fallen sharply. I see this as an advent of the lond term us dollar bull trend.
