Wow, that thing just closed at 3.40 FYI: The AAPL Feb8/Feb16 450 Call Calendar is marked at 0.30, but I doubt it opens up there.
You dumped AAPL way too soon, but then again you're in from 1.60 and I'm in it from 2.08. No closes today. Tinypic is down so I'll post when it comes back up. Journal PNL is hovering around +14% at a <3% PTTDD; so almost 5x risk. I started trading K200 Kospi options this week as a POA on a relative's account in Sweden. Did well neutral to 1960 and expect a touch of 1966 cash on Monday. Fantastic contract. *** I have no access to Kospi from the US. If any EU/Aus/Asian resident would like to run some money in K200 as a joint-venture, drop me a PM and I'll show you my 2012 performance (ROC of 100% in 2012)
The double was at an 8% draw. *** I have no access to Kospi from the US. If any EU/Aus/Asian resident would like to run some money in K200 as a joint-venture, drop me a PM and I'll show you my 2012 performance (ROC of 100% in 2012)
I bought yesterday the FEB 30/37.5/45 fly. Just wondering if you think the calendar has a better edge (other than transaction costs) Are you vega neutral on the calendar? Truth is that there was no vol edge to my fly (over the flat IV fly)
Hopefully you will post the KOSPI trades too? As this is something I was considering to try. Wish I had more money in my acc or more experience to interest you re the joint venture.
I kind of like the fly. I want to be short Feb vol, as it's elevated compared to other months. I did the calendar because I wanted to sell Feb, and buy Apr. Pretty sure earnings are in Apr and this way I can buy earnings vol on the cheap. Chose the 40 strike because I wanted to skew it a little bullish.
AAPL's close was optimal for the 450 calendar. Little chance of a large overshoot of the strike to the upside before exp. Virtually guaranteed to touch 450 this week. Looking for more than a double on the 450 calendar.
