Goog collapsed. Got lucky. Am long gamma and hedged my delta at 756ish. Unfortuntely, i was hedging most of the rally up as well.

 

Yeah I was lucky to get out at 15.55 (puts). It really rolled over.

 

Got screwed on Goog. Had to sell in the high 14's. Did it fall fast or what.

 

Out of the Oct MA fly at 35, should've closed it earlier.

 

I got into the Goog weekly, Oct calendar 760 line. callspread for 15.7
It didn't change much throughout the day (at least according to this thread).

Three vols and I think earnings are in Oct maturity..

I miss trading full time.

Yeah, I am in 50. I realize that it's a 7.00 trade the week of, but I think I'll snag a buck in it.

 

Any journal updates? I know it may be kind of tough here with the nascent move in vol.

That AAPL Oct/Nov IV spread has now narrowed to under 200 bp. So I guess it's a wait and see type thing. I think it will probably drift to 675 by week's end. Maybe a Sep/Oct calendar would work if they don't announce when the report is this week.

I still think there may be opportunities in MA, as it seems to want to hang around the 445/450 strike.

I can't get a read on GOOG, but your 750 calendars are looking good here.

 

I am looking this morning, but may wait until the close. It's too late to sell vol in MA-Oct, and I hold that position (450 neutral) in other accounts.

 

Yeah probably too late. I closed my MA position, as I was neutral to 455. Do you still like those GOOG 750 cals? I guess we'll see where the stock is in a few hours.
