    Exactly my point.
It is a cry of self sympathy but no one is listening.
You made the mess, you clean it up, is how the world views the situation.

US foreign policy is so self serving and downright evil

that it would turn a butterfly into a C4 packed bear seeking revenge

  3. On the contrary, the reason I began this is because so many of you obsessively write on the internet how much you hate Americans, our system of government and amuse yourselves with the typical anti-American stereotypes. The difference is, most Americans simply do not waste time worrying about you...most simply do not care. Sorry. So, again, if you will criticize the U.S., explain why your system is superior. None of you did - there was a weak attempt - but it just went back to the usual childish name calling. Have a great day!

  4. the4xczar, you seem a little paranoid. No need to bash the entire board if you feel your nation isn't getting the respect it should.

US foreign policy has always given the appearance of being merely a commodities gathering extension of it´s domestic policy.
The age old question of how can we gather commodities from foreign lands without paying fair value for them.
Quite frankly this situation plus the oil reserve dollar has lead the industrial/banking/military leaders into temptation beyond their abilities and it will only be globalisation that gives them any hope in the future.
    Not you, but them.

Where does this leave your average US citizen.
Well quite frankly that is not my problem but I am certain that others are sweating or soon will be when the realisation finally dawns upon them.

If nothing else it will start with the meltdown of the sprawling suburbs and attached malls.

As for retreating behind a fence it is a no can do.
Firstly US imports more than it sells so the fence must be porous and secondly it will need to leave a set of keys with every creditor nation.

If you believe that borrowing money in order to build a carrier group in order to protect your mortgage against default is a swell idea, then grab a six pack, kick your heels back in your lazy-boy and watch the drama unfold.

If you believe this little mess is going to clear without substantial pain, you better make that several six packs, but trust me the penny will eventually drop.

    speaking of florida real estate...
and probably many other nice places in U.S.
it's so dirty cheap comparing to europe or my place - warsaw, poland. currently i live in a 40 sq. meter apartment which costs about the same as 150 sq. m home in Florida! cars can be bought half a price vs poland , laptops 2/3 price, internet+telephone bills also much cheaper, fuel, etc. the list goes on and on.

USD lost exactly 50% since it's peak in mid 2000 vs polish zloty. as a non us resident what can I teach you...? well maybe one thing.
drop visas for polish tourists, you'll have more customers for your businesses. we'd love to make a fat shopping in america! and don't worry that we'll take your jobs, it has less and less financial sense to work for $dollars as they lose value so quickly.

You offer a rational a thought DT-waw but the US plan is not being built along rational lines.

By the way I hope you are not living near the proposed patriot bases, otherwise your RE could become affordable once again.

  8. I am jealous of Germany's robust 10.2% unemployment rate.

  9. I got an idea. Why don't we shut down the UN, shut down foreign aid, starting charging by the head for those that want to emigrate to the US, close down those factories and call centers in foreign countries, bring all that home and give the jobs to workers in the US, which will enable them to pay higher taxes. We'll have that deficit reduced in no time.

After all, the world doesn't need us, right?

By the way, for you guys who haven't mentioned your country, don't be shy now, let's hear where you're from, and all the good things about your country.

You are viewing the problem through the eyes of the middle class and it is a gracious thought and I for one sincerely hope that you succeed.

However I rather feel that the small number of people running US policy do not share your ideas.

I am very much afraid that you will need to let the drama unfold.
