Attendees of Confederate Woodstock dismayed that actions have consequences

  1. I think if they were BLM nobody would have got shot and the building would still be occupied with negotiations going on between them and Congress.
The fact is no one should have been able to enter that building without being met with whatever force necessary to repel them.

Trumper Secret Service agent about to lose his job... pushed that lawmakers who voted to certify the election were "commuting treason on live t.v." -- plus a bunch of other traitorous stuff he posted on social media including blaming ANTIFA for the capital insurrection.

Washington Post: Secret Service officer placed under investigation after accusing lawmakers of treason on social media
    https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/12/poli...icer-investigation-washington-post/index.html

A US Secret Service officer is under investigation after accusing lawmakers of treason and sharing conspiracy theories about the election on social media, according to The Washington Post who obtained images of the comments.

News of the investigation comes as law enforcement agencies broaden their investigations into what role their own officers played in the deadly insurrection at the US Capitol as they look through social media posts.

In one image, the newspaper reported Monday night, the secret service officer posted a meme on Facebook titled "Here's to the Peaceful Transition of Power" with President Donald Trump shaking hands with himself in the Oval Office. A day after the siege on the US Capitol, a comment was posted using the officer's name that criticized attempts to remove Trump from office and accused lawmakers who accepted the electoral college vote of "committing treason on live tv."

"Good morning patriots! Yesterday started out beautiful and as usual Antifa soured the mood and attacked police and an Air Force veteran was murdered....It's OFFENSE time finally!!," the comment read, according to the newspaper.

The USSS declined to comment about the matter to CNN, but when asked about the investigation a spokesperson for the Secret Service said the agency "carries out its law enforcement mission in an objective and apolitical manner."

"Any allegation that an employee is not carrying out their duties in that manner will be investigated. As this is a personnel matter, the agency will not be further commenting," the spokesperson said.

Two US Capitol Police officers have been suspended and at least 10 more are under investigation for their behavior during last week's assault on the Capitol. A spokesperson for Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan, a Democrat, told CNN that at least 10 Capitol Police officers are being investigated for their roles in the riot. A House aide separately said there are as many as 17 officers under investigation as part of eight investigations into the insurrection at the Capitol.

At least seven officers in five other departments across the country have come under internal investigation as their presence in Washington during the assault comes to light through social media or other means.

    Agree.

I just don't agree with making excuses and trying to blame other groups for the clear failings of Federal Law Enforcement and/or their superiors.

It is what it is. Let's stop blaming everything on unsubstantiated conspiracy theories. Isn't that how we got here?

    Just to be clear:

    1. Voters are responsible for electing someone with a less than stellar background; no experience; lack of morals; etc. etc.

    2. Politicians are responsible for supporting the same.

    3. Trump is responsible for inciting the crowd.

    4. The crowd is responsible for the breach etc.

    5. Law enforcement is responsible for not being prepared and/or not executing their responsibilities and/or aiding/abetting the mob.

    EDIT:

    6. And internet trolls are responsible for downplaying it all.

  6. Makes for a good story but the reality is that Joe's entire administration is about getting the old gang back together. He is hardly an outsider.

Hillary had a notoriously ugly relationship with the Secret Service- very ugly- they hated her and she hated them. Joe had a quirky one. As you may recall the female agents complained that when they were assigned to him he liked to swim in the buff in front of them even though he knew they did not like. No doubt there are lots of reasons why Joe wants the secret service agents back who knew how to play ball with him. Bubba had the agents that he had trained too, both in Arkansas and in DC.

  7. I'm not saying that Antifa was directly involved is this particular mob action, but one unchecked act of mob violence will lead to others doing the same thing. None of this happens in a vaccum.
BLM isn't the only group that pissed off about what they claim to be the never ending Injustice against black people. Antifa isn't the only group of trust fund babies who think they're living under constant oppression. There are plenty of really pissed off people in this country and they are organizing. One group will watch and see how the other is treated during a demonstration turned riot. They will then emulate that activity. It doesn't end and will in fact grow until they start getting put down hard, all of them. You treat any of them differently, the others will see that as more injustice and act out accordingly. Does not matter if these injustices are real or perceived, in their minds it's all real, no evidence of fact is needed. This is the idiot world you get when stupid shit like believe all women becomes the acceptable norm.

"Proving intelligence isn't exactly their forte, a suspect in the Capitol riots helpfully points out his picture on the FBI's suspect list on Facebook."

The ‘QAnon shaman’ guy got kicked out of the Navy for refusing a vaccine
Somebody didn't read their Oath of Enlistment.
    https://taskandpurpose.com/news/qanon-shaman-guy-navy-veteran-vaccine/

The infamous “QAnon shaman” found among the rioters who stormed the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. last week once served in the Navy but was kicked out after refusing to take a vaccine, Task & Purpose has learned.

The likeness of Jacob Anthony Angeli Chansley, 33, has been plastered across the internet since he showed up in Washington bedecked in a headdress and sporting star-spangled war paint — because nothing says “I’m an insurrectionist of the social media era” quite like getting Instagram-ready before storming your nation’s capital.

For those who have been following the rise of QAnon and their associated conspiracy theories over recent years, Chansley’s name is likely well-known thanks to his appearances at numerous Trump rallies and in subsequent news reports, particularly in his home state of Arizona. Hell, he even has his own Wikipedia page.

Gina Harkins with Military.com was the first to report on Chansley’s prior military service.

Here’s how the Department of Justice described his involvement in last week’s unrest which left five dead and others injured: “It is alleged that Chansley was identified as the man seen in media coverage who entered the Capitol building dressed in horns, a bearskin headdress, red, white and blue face paint, shirtless, and tan pants. This individual carried a spear, approximately 6 feet in length, with an American flag tied just below the blade.”

For his role in the riots, Chansley, who also goes by Jake Angeli and who likes to refer to himself as the “QAnon shaman,” surrendered to the FBI in Phoenix on Jan. 9 and was charged with knowingly entering a restricted building without lawful authority and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol Grounds.

“Chansley stated that he came as part of a group effort, with other ‘patriots’ from Arizona, at the request of the President that all ‘patriots’ come to D.C. on January 6, 2021,” according to a Justice Department statement of facts about his arrest. He also apparently hasn’t eaten because the food in jail is not up to his standards.

Much of this has been extensively covered in recent media reports. What’s less known is that Chansley had a short-lived career in the Navy.

According to his service record, Chansley enlisted out of Arizona as a supply clerk on Sept. 26, 2005. After completing recruit training and MOS school he was assigned to the USS Kitty Hawk in March 2006, where he stayed until Sept. 29, 2007, at which point he was transferred to a Transient Personnel Unit in Puget Sound in Washington state. He was processed out of the Navy on Oct. 11 of that year as a seaman’s apprentice — which means he got out as a boot E-2 with two years and 15 days in uniform.

A Navy official told Task & Purpose Chansley was booted from the service after he refused to take the anthrax vaccine. Citing privacy regulations, officials declined to provide the characterization of his discharge.

His military record notes that he received the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon — but no personal awards of any kind.

Chansley is, unfortunately, not the only veteran or service member to grab headlines due to the chaos at the Capitol. Two of the people killed in the unrest were former service members on opposite ends of the confrontation: Brian Sicknick, an Air National Guardsman turned-Capitol Police Officer, and Ashli Babbitt an Air Force veteran who took part in the riot.

Additionally, Capt. Emily Rainey, an Army special operations officer, is under investigation for leading a group of roughly 100 people to the Capitol for the pro-Trump rally that quickly devolved into a riot. And as Military.com reported, Rendall Brock Jr., a retired Air Force Reserve lieutenant colonel, was arrested on Sunday in Texas after he was seen carrying flex-cuffs, wearing a Kevlar, and rocking military patches on his body armor inside of the Senate chamber at the U.S. Capitol.
