MAGA-rioting rabbi requests a punishment of a $50 fine ahead of sentencing hearing
    https://www.rawstory.com/capitol-rioter-sentence-2656382696/

Michael Stepakoff, a Florida rabbi who stormed the Capitol on January 6th, is pleading for leniency and asking to only pay a $50 fine for his attempt to stop the certification of President Joe Biden's election victory.

Via CBS News' Scott MacFarlane, Stepakoff's lawyers this week argued that he wasn't a violent Capitol rioter, and they said instead he "walked around the hallway slowly, aimlessly, staying within close range of the entry doors -- appearing aloof, incognizant, and out of place."

It's because of this, his attorneys argued, that he should only have to pay a $50 fine for illegally entering the Capitol.

However, as prosecutors have documented, Stepakoff's social media posts in the wake of the MAGA riots were anything but "aloof" and "incognizant."

In one post, he wrote that "I think violence or even the breaking apart of the Republic might become inevitable if something isn't done immediately to ensure the integrity of the 2020 election."

He also said that, even though he is against violence generally, that "tens of millions of people in this country are not going to sit back, consent and do nothing when their sacred right to vote is taken from them through the use of rigged Dominion machines and phony ballots."

Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of 45 days in jail for Stepakoff.

LOL -- these insurrectionists are idiots. But we already knew that.

MAGA rioters asked Pelosi staffers to return items they dropped while ransacking her office
    https://www.rawstory.com/capitol-riot-pelosi/

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) told Insider on Friday that several pro-Trump Capitol rioters dropped personal belongings while they were ransacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) office -- and then they called her office and asked how to get them back.

Specifically, Raskin claimed that some of the rioters called and were "asking whether there was a lost and found because they forgot their phone there, or they left their purse or what have you."

Quick-witted staffers handed the requests over to law enforcement officials, who promptly "got on the phone and said, yeah, just give us your name, your address, your social, you know, and we'll tie up these loose ends," Raskin said.

Raskin said that he found this incredible because the rioters seemed to really believe there would be no repercussions for their actions.

"What's so fascinating to me about that there really were people who felt as if they had been summoned to Washington by the president," he said. "And when they were told that they were trespassing and invading the Capitol, they said the president invited them to be there. They didn't have any kind of subtle understanding of the separation of powers. They just thought that the number one person in the US government had invited them to be there, and therefore they had a right."

Accused Proud Boy Rioter Is Undone by His Embarrassing Modeling Pics
    https://www.thedailybeast.com/alan-...arged-after-sleuths-uncover-his-modeling-pics

A Proud Boy’s fledgling modeling career helped lead to his arrest Friday when online sleuths used old catwalk photos to identify the man seen wearing Ray Ban sunglasses in photos from the Capitol riot. The unidentified rioter was dubbed “RayBanTerrorist” by online sleuths and was listed as the 222th person on the FBI’s list of still unidentified Jan. 6 suspects. Sleuths used facial recognition to match photos of “RayBanTerrorist” to photos of a man with visible tattoos and to a 2019 news story from Tampa Bay that featured a New Year’s post from Fischer’s Instagram page. That led them to more photos, including one published by HuffPost of Fischer on the catwalk, modeling a pair of underwear with a gold crotch patch. He was arrested in Florida and charged with assaulting, resisting, and impeding federal officers, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, and civil disorder.
