An attorney for an accused Capitol rioter claimed his client had been radicalized by Fox News, saying he had "Foxitus" and "Foxmania." Anthony Antonio, of Clayton, Delaware, watched Fox News for six months prior to the Capitol riot, the attorney said during a multi-defendant hearing on Thursday related to the Capitol siege. The attorney said his client started "believing what was being fed to him" by the news outlet and former President Donald Trump, HuffPost's Ryan Reilly and The Daily Beast reported. Antonio, who was wearing a black tactical bulletproof vest with a "Three Percenter" patch when pro-Trump supporters stormed the Capitol on January 6, was included in a "Seeking Information" list posted by the FBI following the incident, according to court documents. Federal investigators interviewed Antonio on February 4, and he admitted to being at the Capitol on January 6. However, he did not answer when investigators asked if he entered the building. Court documents allege that Antonio entered the Capitol through one of the broken windows. "Although his face was not visible, he was identifiable by the tattoo on his wrist and the distinctive black gloves with white writing," according to the document. A video also captured Antonio inside the building "picking up a piece of furniture, which appeared to have a broken leg, with another individual and tossing the furniture off to the side," the documents said. In the February 4 interview with investigators, Antonio described his account of what happened when protestors confronted police officers outside the building, saying he saw "death" in the eyes of one officer who he said was asking for help. Metropolitan Police Officer Mike Fanone was tased by accused rioter Danny "DJ Rodrguez," who has been charged in relation to the incident. Video footage showed Antonio near Rodriguez at the time of the incident, who was holding a stun gun, HuffPost reported. A criminal complaint was filed against Antonio on April 14, charging him with unlawfully entering restricted building or grounds, violent entry and disorderly conduct, obstruction of law enforcement, obstruction of an official proceeding, and destruction of government property. A representative for Fox News did not immediately return Insider's request for comment.

A rapper is facing federal charges after his album cover featured a photo of him posing on a SWAT car during the Capitol riots. Antionne DeShaun Brodnax, whose artist name is Bugzie the Don, released his album called "The Capital," sharing photos of the cover on Twitter on February 8 and posting a photo on Instagram earlier in May. The artwork on the cover featured Brodnax with a cigar in his right hand and an American flag behind him while he sits on a SWAT car. The blurred background captures pro-Trump supports storming the US Capitol as lawmakers voted to certify President Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 election. Brodnax told federal investigators that he traveled to Washington, DC, to shoot a music video, according to an affidavit. The Virginia rapper claimed he followed the crowd into the Capitol building, walked around, and took pictures and videos of the architecture. Brodnax said his friends reached out to him on social media saying they spotted him on CNN broadcast, and he left the building after about 40 minutes. Brodnax was identified to investigators after people tipped off authorities with screenshots of him on the CNN broadcast and tagging his Twitter handle, as well as posting another photo of Brodnax sitting on the US Capitol Police SWAT truck. He was charged on four counts, including unlawful entry and misconduct on restricted grounds and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol Building, according to court documents. Trump supporters caused even more damage to the Capitol than was previously known https://www.rawstory.com/capitol-riot-2653049889/ The Capitol architect told a House committee that damage inside the building following the Jan. 6 riot was much worse than the public realized. Brett Blanton, who oversees the buildings and grounds on Capitol Hill, told lawmakers that former president Donald Trump's supporters stole photography equipment, damaged the inaugural platform and tracked blue paint onto priceless stone features during their violent attempt to stop the election certification. "On January 6, members of my team were preparing the grounds and the presidential inauguration stage. Our artists and trades teams were excited to finish painting the stands a bright white with a deep blue edging on the main stage of the platform," Blanton told the Committee on House Administration. "As crowds began to appear on the West Front at about mid-day, my staff was moved indoors or sent home. Shockingly, over the course of a couple of hours, the hard work of our team was destroyed. The platform was wrecked, there was broken glass and other debris littering the grounds, sound systems and photography equipment were damaged beyond repair or stolen, two historic Olmsted lanterns were ripped from the ground, and the blue paint — we had so painstakingly worked on all morning — was tracked all over the historic stone balustrades and Capitol Building hallways." Decorative painters were needed to restore the damage, Blanton said. "Statues, murals, historic benches and original shutters also suffered varying degrees of damage. This damage to our precious artwork and statues requires expert cleaning and conservation," he noted. A $2 billion emergency spending bill to boost security at the Capitol includes funding for a wellness center for Capitol police officers named after Officer Howie Liebengood, of Virginia, who took his life shortly after serving on duty against the insurrection. A second officer, Jeffrey Smith, of Virginia, also took his life about a week after the riot.
