I actually own some GLD in my Roth IRA. I'm interested in options on gold stocks for my taxable account, though. I've been looking into buying GDX, or possibly options on Gold Corps or other individual gold stocks.

If you want to put the work in to pick the "best" future performers of the industry, I'd suggest going with the individual names.

Strange that NEM was comming up on my otm call screen.

GC is actually skewed on the put strike.

NEM has excellent financials. Even a chartist will like the current technicals. I am still bearish on gold, though.

A follow up. The healthiest company in a crappy business. It is a low dividend paying stock and the cash flow is not used on hookers, blow or stock buybacks. They have been acquiring mines big time.

I've been researching a few mining companies, including NEM, RIC, GG, and a few others. I figured I might wait until December (or possibly January) to start buying calls in order to see if prices drop much lower as a result of possible rate hike.

Oops. I should have said that NEM was comming up on the "covered call" screen. The call skew is rich. But, Jan17 is flat as in Bob's platform.
