And what baffles me is that the Right doesn't wish to even consider tax increases during raging budget deficits and after the rich had the ride of their lives during the Bush years. The rich got very rich under Bush, while everyone else largely stagnated in the aggregate. Now that it's time to pay the check, the Right wants to right all the wrongs on the backs of the vulnerable and not even touch the tax policy that greatly widened the divide and contributed to the current state of affairs. Talk about having your cake and eating it, too.
, while everyone else largely stagnated in the aggregate --------------------- Speak for your self. I have had the most productive 5 years in the history of me working. I started my own company (LLC) and have thrived ever since. This years looks to be a record year even during this great recession/depression going on.. but here is the kicker, I do very little business in America. I have found my "New Atlantis" to tap into where many Producers are making money. Rich will always get Rich, you will never get rid of the Rich no matter what you Parasites Try. Rich to me is 100 of millions not a simple 250k a year. Republicans and Democrats are the same, for the most part. They both SPEND SPEND SPEND, they both sell out the Small and Private Business sector. So, I share your distaste for Politicians in the Republican Party yet, I have a distaste for all Politicians for the most part.
I thought this thread was about the movie. My mistake... Anyhow, let's say you are an investor. Would you invest in Part 2??? (for profit, of course, not for vanity)
Gosh, I certainly hope EMRGLOBAL plunks his newfound wealth into Part 2, for whatever reason. Then he could ride off into the sunset and go weave baskets and barter with John Galt on an island somewhere, far, far away. The end.
Typical idiot response by a Parasite GABFLY1. I don't have to move to an island as New Atlantis is a metophor. I tap't into the GLOBAL MARKET place and my tool is Skype and Airplanes. Very simple really. "I" is how I live as I am a capitalist. I am in business for the pursuit of profit for myself. My number one concern is not the "COLLECTIVE PARASITES" like yourself and the other freeloaders. And I already travel to islands far far away for surfing trips my friend. I have baskets weaved for me by people who are willing to work and not freeload like your group of "Parasites" that you champion. Pesk.... Good question. I believe the Film cost near 10 million or so. So, if they were selling shares in the movie, I am an accredited investor by SEC/FINRA terms, so yes...I can invest in the movie. Will I...no one has contacted me and I have no idea about the breakdown in Shares if they were to ask for Private Funding from individual investors. However, I could raise 10million on a drop of a dime for the Director. I would take my 10% cut per the SEC/FINRA rules and I would roll some of that profit into the movie. Would I expect a return on my money, yes. If it did not happen would I look to the Government to bail me out like the Parasites do, now because I took the risk and understood the risk. I would treat the Capital Raising for the Film, like I have with the Oil wells I have funded. I buy into investments that I raise funds for, ...for the most part. That is they way I build my net worth via Hard Assets and not some fluffy 401k.
That's the thing with EMRGLOBAL's posts: are they real or are they parody? Anthropologists remain undecided.
No, I'm not real. I'm some clown who sits in a cubical, earning wages from a W2 standpoint, pretending he is successful and a player in the Financial World. No no. I'm some guy who was laid off and lives on unemployment, 99 weeks, and pretends to be a successful player in the world of Private Equity. Wait, I'm just some freeloader, who is in the public Library pretending I have a job. oh well who is John Galt.
The question is why does a capitalist hating, socialist librarian from the US's northern progressive neighbor post on a board dedicated to free markets, finance and the celebration of capitalism? You obviously have issues with success in any form. The constant negation is getting boring.
