  2. We'll have people dropping in all day...come by for the opening if you like...pretty much 9-5 for 3 days. The "formal" presentations will take place around 11-1, but we'll have people there all day...

  5. There is a TC2000 seminar (free) being held Friday April 11th and Sat April 12 at the Buckhead Sheraton if anyone is interested.

The mailer I got says classes start at 10:00 am each day and open house is from 1 to 4 p.m. Supposed to be 900 bucks worth of prize giveaways. Anyway might be worth checking out.

The Sheraton is right next to Lenox Square fwiw.

    Cheers.

  7. MTA meeting is next week. The speaker should be really good, I have read his stuff on systems trading going back about a decade and he definitely knows how to build, test, and tweak them out. :p

If anyone from here is going, post and maybe we can have some drinks or something before or after the meeting.

Atlanta trading scene really starting to heat up too.

Rumor has it SAC Capital is comming to town baby!

    Cheers.

    > The Atlanta chapter of the MTA will have its next meeting Thursday, April
    > 24. The speaker will be Nelson Freeburg of Formula Research in Memphis,
    > TN. The meeting will take place, as usual, at the Atlanta Financial
    > Center, 3333 Peachtree Rd, NE. Sandwiches and beverages on the Terrace
    > level beginning at roughly 5:30pm will be followed by the presentation on
    > the tenth floor at 6:00pm.
    >
We hope to share with you Nelson's biography sometime later this week, but
suffice it to say that Nelson has been a pioneer in the area of mechanical
market timing systems, and he is the founder and editor of the market
newsletter Formula Research. This will likely be one of the most rewarding
presentations that we will host this year. Plus, we get to hear him before
he presents to the NY Chapter (can anyone say "front-run?").

Continued Kudos to M. Fred Meissner, Jr. for finding outstanding presenters
for our Chapter. Be sure to say thanks to Fred, and let us know if there is
someone that you would especially like to see present in the future.

    ++++
Reminder: On May 29, we expect Rick Redmont to join us. Rick is the
    founder of CompuTrac.

    7:10 – 7:30
I have also volunteered this month to walk you through a process that determines:
How good you are as an investor, as a market timer and as a stock picker
How much risk you can really tolerate
What your investment objectives are in terms of return, time horizon, etc.
I will show through few examples (using one specific kind of spread trades) how to design and put on option trades to meet your needs.

    7:30 – 8:30
    Open Discussion on Discount Brokers
Find out who is the group favorite option/stock online discount broker and who is the most hated. Some of the topics we plan to discuss are:
Commissions, account maintenance fees, order-handling fees, order cancelation fee
    Margin requirements, margin rates
    Option trades in IRA accounts
Customer service, online help, ease of use, platform customization
Smart order/direct order entry, speed of execution, streamlined order entry
Transactions history, online statements, tax reports, portfolio analysis
    Links to research/charts
    Kickbacks from order flow
Real-time versus delayed quotes, ability to view quotes from all option exchanges
Most of our members trade with Interactive Brokers, Brown & Co, OptionsXpress, Fidelity, Think or Swim, E*Trade, Wall Street Access, Schwab and Quick and Reilly.

Good luck with your investments and upcoming option expiration. See you on the 21st.

  9. Bummping this thread to the top, because the MTA meeting is tommorow. The speaker is supposed to be really exceptional with systems development. If your in Atl, I'd try and make it.

Also, if anyone lives on the North side of the city, a friend of mine just opened a trading office off Winward Parkway in Alpharetta. (It is not large and they don't want it to get large, but there is room for 3-4 more traders, if anyone reading happens to live an hour out of the city like me and didn't know there was a place to trade north of atlanta, there now is.

(As far as I know it is the only one up that way in sububaria. someone can correct me if I"m wrong) Anyway if anyone wants to check it out let me know. There are only half a dozen of us trading there but it is about as sweet a setup as you could ever find.

They have two t-1's comming into the place with a choice of gr8trade or the hammer for platform options. In addition to the excellent platforms, bullets are 1 cent per share and they have a first alert machine, cyclops, a full on bloomberg (those are expensive) squawk box,(lichtenstein) ogg (guy that reads the news) over the speakers, as well as access to metastock and some other software tools that we use to develop and trade various strategies. Office is run by the best pairs trader I have ever seen.

Anyway, Atlanta traders check out the MTA meeting tommorow.

I went to the Atlanta Options meeting on Monday and learned about some iron condor 4 legged options strategy or something but have already forgotten how to put the trade on. Hopefully the MTA meeting won't be so complicated. LOL.
