Any futures traders in Atlanta here?
Wasn't there a prop futures firm there called Aberdeen Atlanta?
I don't trade futures but I am in ATL. The only groups I can find here are the MTA which meets every once in a blue moon as far as I can tell and a group called Atlanta Options Traders which meets in Alphretta.
They seem to have a pretty good group.
Meanwhile I am on the email list for the Denver Trading group and they have guest speakers all over the place. Here is there agenda for the next four weeks below. It's actually looks slow because of the holidays and the vectorvest indigo stuff is routine, and I really don't have much use for that.
They had a speaker on SSF's last week I think. Anyway I post it because if they can get something going in Denver you would think there would be demand here in the financial capital of the south.
Would be nice to get an Atlanta Trading group going here in GA, prehaps the options group would broaden out to include futures, stocks, and other derivatives. Doesn't seem like to much of a stretch. Besides now that they are trying to apply PDT rules to options I bet a lot of the people in that group start trading SSF's.
If anyone is interested, post to this thread. Maybe we can get something started.
The Atlanta Options group has 70 members according to Yahoo.
They are at Atlanta-OptionInvestor in the yahoo groups thing.

I would be willing to meet with other serious traders who would like to talk business. let me know if you or anyone else would like to meet.
Count me in with a meeting in Atlanta as long as it doesn't involve fighting rush "hour" traffic.
i would love to meet sometime. i am in downtown atl. just hook it up and i am there boys!
anyone that is reading this in Atlanta is welcome to check this out. Besides the MTA it appears from the research I have done that this is pretty much the only trading related group that Atlanta has right now.

Just a reminder, Atlanta options investors meeting is today for anyone here in the Atlanta area, the agenda is in the post above this one.
Will be the first one I have been to myself.
I'm in Norcross and trade the ES daily.
Anyone locate any more traders (equity) in Atlanta? I'm a newbie trading from home and wondered if there were any daytraders in the area - prop or otherwise.
Other cities seem to have groups (like daytradersusa) organized where folks can get together and compare notes. If anyone is 1)aware of such a group in the area or 2) would be interested in starting something please let me know. pm would be great.
