1. Meetings organized by the Market Technicians Association (MTA) are great places to learn, ask questions, and listen to industry leaders in technical analysis.

Here's the next meeting (tomorrow night) agenda:

The Atlanta Chapter of the Market Technicians Association (MTA) invites you to join us this Thursday evening, July 21st for a presentation by Robert Deel.

Robert, an internationally known trading strategist, is also an active trader who fights the battle of the bulls and bears everyday. He will discuss multi-dimensional risk and time analysis, trend dynamics, maximum momentum acceleration points, probability price projections and more. Robert Deel is an internationally known trading strategist who will walk you through "the tricks of the trade." Robert will introduce you to the DEEL volatility adjusted stop placement and price projection methods. He will also teach about "negative return zones" and temporal analysis which applies to stocks and markets. Robert's presentation will include the opportunity to experiences an interactive simulation designed to test and improve your skills by directly applying what you learned in the workshop. It will also include analyses on several current charts so you can see the outcome of Robert's projections a few days after the class.

Robert's presentation will begin at 6:00pm on the tenth floor of the Atlanta Financial Center at 3333 Peachtree Rd. (South Tower). The presentation will be preceded by the usual sandwiches and sodas on the tenth floor, in the vicinity of our meeting room at 5:30pm. In addition, the AMTA steering committee will also meet at this time.

Mechanical Systems Traders Special Interest Group: If you are interested in working with others to develop/improve your mechanical trading systems, please email me your name with the subject headers "Mechanical Systems." Please indicate whether you are an advanced, intermediate, or beginner in systems development. Please also indicate what software you are using. We would like as much feedback/discussion as possible about the best software/data providers, etc. from you!

****Also, if you would like to present a trading system or other analytical framework to our group during our August meeting (8/25) please let me know NOW! Our August meeting will likely be a format with several presentations from our own Chapter participants discussing their analytical trading framework/systems/ideas, but we would like a special focus on systems if possible. This should be an opportunity to share your knowledge and get feedback from others who may be able to help.

  2. The Atlanta Chapter of the Market Technicians Association (MTA) invites you to join us next Thursday evening, August 25th for our annual roundtable discussion. This year we will include several presentations from our current constituents regarding systems and trading setups. Thus far, I have confirmed presentations by David Aferiat, Business Development Manager for Trade Ideas and Daniel Majeda, who has worked on mechanical systems development for 6 years. I am still waiting to hear back from several others. If you have strong interest in sharing some insights regarding mechanical systems or trading setups, please let me know by the end of this week. The focus of your discussion should be on a particular system or signal, its development, and its results - good or bad.

The presentation will begin at 6:00pm on the tenth floor of the Atlanta Financial Center at 3333 Peachtree Rd. (South Tower). The presentation will be preceded by the usual sandwiches and sodas on the tenth floor, in the vicinity of our meeting room at 5:30pm.

****We expect to host Steve Nison, author and candlesticks expert, on October 27th. This event was originally scheduled as a webinar, but it will actually be a live in-person presentation from Steve. Please mark your calendars.

****Be advised: The September meeting is canceled because many of us will likely choose to attend a presentation by the inimitable Jimmy Rogers, hosted by SEHFA and the ASFA, during the last week of September. I believe that the cost will be $75 per attendee, and it will likely be the most exciting seminar in Atlanta this year. Additional details to follow early next week.

Her third book, entitled Short-Term Trading in the New Stock Market, is published by St. Martin's Press just this year.
