if taser use requires lethal force in return, why are they used in the 1st place? Wonder if cop got hit or dodged as he barrels to the parked car.
I just saw this new video 30 seconds ago and the shooting looks justified.I do think the cops knew it was a taser but I can understand shooting someone pointing a taser at you,I would.
There's now no longer a point to have police, because all police actions are now criminal, and all criminals are justified. Welcome to the new world order. Anyone ever hear of Snake Plisskin? Better find that version of the man in your neighborhood, stat.
At first I though, well, you don't know if the suspect is strapped and what he's pointing at you, but it's clear to all it was the taser from the get-go. We can do all kinds of armchair quarterbacking about what the perp could do if he immobilized the cop. I personally don't think he deserved the death penalty for using a standard issue non lethal weapon on the cops themselves, but that's a policy thing at that point. Unfortunate that we have to rely on footage and can't believe a word cops say now when it comes to dead black men.
Look...any person of any race puts a cops life in danger or serious threat then pull the weapon and unload the clip in the chestals... But I would like to see the instances reduces of police resorting to gun fire when someone is running away (in the movies and TV are all these chase scenes...are real cops fat a d lazy?) or when someone is just standing still (Philandro). Cops rely to much on perceived threats to fire their weapon due to shitty training. Remember the video of the private investigator sitting in his car and the fucktard cop pulled his weapon with his hands shaking for several minutes while the guy had his hands up. Other cop comes over and the guy basically begs the officer to lower his piece. This is what scares me about the cops.
I saw the Atlanta video and think this is not the same as other cases. It was an escalating situation and wonder why he was not tazed or the tazer waa not enough. Then what should the cops do? This is where the training falls woefully short. The problem with the narrative is the white guy assaults a cop and takes his taser and bites the officer and is never shot and this guy is shot. That is the only narrative that will play over and over. Right now the police need better training because they are helpless in these situations where they immediately go to the gun.
how many shots on a tazer I wonder? From my recollection when these were first introduced, they were a one shot thing. If the perp shot his load, it's a foot chase at that point
It was justified imo, you can't punch the police, steal the taser, point it at him and expect the cop to not think worst case scenario will not happen if he gets knocked out by it.
except if he already shot the only tazer round, the threat is gone, and if he got hit, he wouldn't be able to get those shots out...so how does that work?
But you can in certain situations apparently... why not a club to the side of the knee ..police should be trained on the use of a tonfa baton...the academy should have 6 weeks of martial arts training on use of baton and takedown etc... All police have is a one shot tazer at close range and it has to hit the subject just right or a gun.
