If he runs AFTER violently resisting arrest, takes a weapon from the cop, turns and points weapon at cops in pursuit, then yes, shoot him 100 percent of the time. Should not even be debated. Case closed.
Reports claim they already questioned the suspect about what he had on him and frisked him even before the handcuffs were applied. I believe the video will demonstrate if this is true or not.
I watched the video. I don't recall seeing them frisk him. The moment they go to cuff him after he fails the test he begins getting violent.
Huh? At what point? In the video they go to cuff him and he is immediately resisting. they go to the ground and it escalates from there. At what point did they frisk him?
Taser isn't designed to kill (although it can) its designed to incapacitate. Police are trained to go equal or 1 level higher force than they are receiving. 100% justified in this case.
There is a video of when they are talking to him calmly, he turns around and they pat him down briefly. Shorty after that they attempt to cuff him
I went back and watched it all again. I still don't see where the frisking was, but maybe there is a different angle?? Patting him down briefly before the resistance isn't frisking. That's not sufficient. However, watching the officer pursuing the suspect, there is no way he can mistake the taser for a weapon. So that is out. Still, its real simple. Don't resist arrest. Don't take a weapon - even a non-lethal one - and use it against an officer. You folks want to continue to remove the officer's ability to defend himself and put all these protocols in place but you don't realize what the end game of doing this is to the police (or you don't care).
If he was shot during the scuffle, that would have also been 100% justified. He grabbed the taser, what if grabbed the gun, office is now dead. You people are absolutely nuts.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/14/us/videos-rayshard-brooks-shooting-atlanta-police.htm Has a couple of relevant clips. The video I saw started a bit later and I didn't see where they patted him down. So my apologies on that.
