Leonard Susskind : "....the small fraction that 'looks as if ' it were intelligently designed. " I don't believe that the universe was designed by an intelligence. " But how could anyone genuinely get that out of context at all, never mind repeatedly as jem does? Susskind can be seen and heard to be sayingâ¦."It looks as if it might be but I don't believe it is " I think you should thank TDog for being generous to you jem . That's one hell of an out of context thing you have going on there . Iâd say itâs more of a desperate grasping for straws by fraudulent distortion caused by extreme religious delusion.
You guys are bozos trolls. You are arguing like clowns here for your dumbed down world view - when all you have to do is click on google. I have provided quotes from some of the most famous physicists in the world including some nobel prize winners. just read my posts on this subject to stu on other threads. This troll named stu then comes here and tries to say I am provided shit out of context. In articles all over the internet susskind and others have said the universe looks spectacularly designed.... (but he believes it is just one universe in an almost infinite amount.) http://physicsworld.com/cws/article/print/23676 With his new book, Leonard Susskind - Felix Bloch professor of theoretical physics at Stanford University - has now decided to step into these waters. Susskind is one of the pioneers of string theory and a leading light in our attempts to understand the origin of the universe and the laws of nature. Like most of his fellow theorists, he is a card-carrying atheist. Nevertheless, in The Cosmic Landscape he expresses sympathy for the intelligent-design view when applied to physics and cosmology rather than biology. Susskind believes that it is more than dumb luck that the universe is so accommodating to human beings. "Can science explain the extraordinary fact that the universe appears to be uncannily, nay, spectacularly, well designed for our own existence?" he asks. I have provided you these quotes and quotes from nobel prize winners. -- It very strange that atheists are so tied to the juvenile world view - they can not acknowledge science.
Here are two of those quotes Leonard Susskind : "....the small fraction that 'looks as if ' it were intelligently designed. " I don't believe that the universe was designed by an intelligence. " and some more ... "Can science explain the extraordinary fact that the universe appears to be uncannily, nay, spectacularly, well designed for our own existence?" Leonard Susskind : "It was random mutation, a bunch of carbon oxygen and other stuff for that mutation to work on, and a little bit of everything evolved. Some things did better than others. Those things are more populous than the things that didn't do well and so it was basically randomness, statistics and the laws of physics that led to our own design. " and a natty book title The Cosmic Landscape: String Theory and the Illusion of Intelligent Design by Leonard Susskind What a charming turn of phrase from someone who is supposedly a 'do good' Christian. As such however you are obviously not bothered about bearing false witness, worried about the fact you can't even assimilate information from a post made directly before your own, nor aware of the need to take more care in place of writing "I am provided shit " as that is not how English is used correctly . You know you shouldn't hate being shown to be wrong so much, you may learn things from it instead of getting to a point of such anger and frustration that thinking straight has become a problem for you. I didn't say you were quoting Leonard Susskind out of context. Thunderdog did. I said you are desperately grasping for straws in a fraudulent distortion of what Leonard Susskind says, caused by your extreme religious delusions.
oh so you are making a distinction between "out of context" and fraudulent distortion? would not almost all fraudulent distortions be out of context? You are such a troll. I just did another search on the internet. there are now law review articles written by professors at public universities which manifest - you troll like ignorance. Saying that the universe does not appear fined tuned - without proffering a explanation for the fine tuning is the modern equivalent of claiming the world is flat.
You might deal with the fact you made fraudulent distortions about what Leonard Susskind said to try and support your "Creator" idea. I suggest you do that before starting to tell me how the universe works through your "searches on the internet" via christian apologist sites.
always liked this quote: Someone asked [Bertrand] Russell at some meeting: 'Lord Russell, what will you say when you die and are brought face to face with your Maker?' He replied without hesitation: 'God,' I shall say, 'God, why did you make the evidence for your existence so insufficient?' - A. J. Ayer I will ask the same thing if the opportunity ever arises. It's not MY fault if i don't believe.
God gives you a brain.. and then your not supposed to use it to make the rational choice of disbelief?? is God unreasonable??
God gives everyone a heart to balance out the intellect... Intellect alone can doubt anything, even its own existence. A strong intellect will recognize the inherent circular nature of human logic, which is based on an assumption that human logic alone would reveal God. When the atheists cannot even provide a definition of the God they don't believe in, it illustrates how reactive their position actually is... So the intellect that God gave can easily doubt God's existence and throw a tantrum like a spoiled child demanding to be held by its mommy... If you were actually intellectually honest, and emotionally honest, you would practice doubt and critical thinking toward the very doubt of God that you have... What few people do once they get comfortable with some ideology, is that they wear it and defend it blindly, but they rarely do the necessary work to see if the foundation of their ideology was truly developed based on a balanced personality, and not resentments, mental problems, etc. I would estimate that upwards of 90% of the atheists here at ET were theists at one point, and probably very devout theists. That means that they failed, or were at least disappointed in their efforts in theism... When people fail, they can either hold a resentment, or they can cheerfully move along and not mind what the others who did not fail are doing... It does seem axiomatic that atheism does not generally bring peace of mind or a level of acceptance of theism. People flipped from one extreme to the other, which is a snapping of reason and logic. A truly rational reaction to failure in theism would be agnosticism, or simply saying "It didn't work for me, it seems to work for others, but I can only speak for myself." I wish the atheists best of luck with their religion of atheism, and as long as their religion doesn't prevent me from practicing my own beliefs, I see no problem at all...
