Absurd. I have not questioned Dawkins, I questioned your infantile dependency on Dawkins as a daddy figure...along with your inability to make an argument on your own. The other fellow was questioning Dr. Vitz's study...which is why I provided him with the contact info. Don't you ever get tired of being made a fool of? I guess not...
I would like to draw attention to the arguments of Jim E.'s over HERE at TheologyWeb. Jim E. is an atheist who went an unbelievable 240 pages, virtually alone, against the dogs of dogma...keeping a level head...and a singularly powerful argument all the while. Here, the sanity of atheism is apparent, when compared side by side with fanatic faith. This is not an endorsement of an atheistic conclusion. It is an observation of relative states of mind. What is important is to observe how lower levels of fear aid in the reasoning process. To my way of thinking, fear of GoD is the most obvious form of insanity.
Your ability to copy & paste, while really quite remarkable, does not exactly qualify as making an argument on your own.
The burden of proof is on those that make the claim. And.. "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof." -the late Carl Sagan good luck with that
Oh, you mean those who make the claim that something comes from nothing, the big bang, that humans came from fish... Extraordinary proof and fact deficient claims like that... Yes indeed, it is a heavy burden that has not been lifted.
i mean the extraordinary claim that YOU are making, aren't you the OP where is your proof that the atheists are wrong/ where is your proof of whatever you are trying to prove? LOL you don't really know do you HA! you made the claim did you not?
Ahhh, so if person has a mental illness, that necessarily makes them wrong? LOL!!! LOL!!! LOL!!! Talk about a logical fallacy. Mentally ill people can embrace the truth and present the truth, happens all the time. Talk about shooting the messenger. Maybe atheists are right, maybe they are wrong, but the contention that atheism is a or a product of mental illness does have a strong basis in psychological theory. Is it so hard to believe that children who were the subject of abuse by father figures either within the home or in their church would then reject the concept of a father figure God as they grew into adulthood? Has a tremendous amount of pain and suffering in the world been inflicted at the directive of the Popes over the course of human history, you know, the "Holy Father?" Is it coincidence that so many atheists are angry at religion? Is it a really a coincidence that they are especially angry with Father based authoritarian religions like Christianity...rather than in love with their current faith in atheism? I haven't seen any published studies demonstrating the inaccuracy or flaw in Dr. Vitz's studies... So the proof is there, if you can lift the blinders to see it...
on the other hand, those abused might seek the security of another father figure. they seek the comfort and approval that they did not receive but should have in childhood? you have no proof but perhaps you proffer experience over theory
