i dropped AT for different reasons but i noticed a 1/2 second delay versus my order entry platform on quotes. AT said that was normal, i said see ya.

  3. Yup...AT is slower than most other datafeeds out there...Many people swear by ILX cause its so damn reliable (nevr crashes) and its is fast as hell. Some people even love their format!

But you know what? I dont care..if I had to depend on 1/2 second fater quotes to make a living...Im in big trouble..and I do trade for small amounts in big sizes....Yes - speed is important...but AT's flexibility and other services make up for it in my mind.

Besides, I have ILX and First Alert... and Belzberg as my backup. No biggie.

  4. i can't even make sense out of ilx. i know some people think it's greater than the horseless carriage.

I wish I could groove with it....it might make a nice backup. For O/E, i like, of all things, ISI...most people wretch when I say that. Also, TradeCast for speed, but I haven't used it in years.

ive never had a problem w/isi...belz crashes on one out of 10 cancels.

  5. At is often not just a 1/2 second slow. For the last week, for example, I have been filled by the specialist but have had to wait up to, no exagerating, 10 seconds (multiple times) to see the print on AT. Sometimes AT doesn't even show the print (it skips prints). I feel like that guy in the commercial who swings at the tennis ball several seconds too late and doesn't respond to his girlfriend when she proposes till she's in the bathroom.

  6. I forgot to mention that this has nothing to do with the connection. I am on a t1 line.

  8. I dropped AT due to delay in the data feed and more importantly, that randomly quotes would stop for 30 secs or more on individual securities. AT never acknowledged that this was an issue. This was a few years ago, btw

  9. Wow. That very thing happens quite often and I thought it was a bottleneck on the net.
