Sure, I can do that. Right now I'd have to say that the hate you manage to express in your intellectually stunted one-liners is part of the problem. For now I'll put you on the list with JakeJones and take you off in a year or two from now to see if you've miraculously grown a brain. Hope springs eternal.
Revolvers, many made by S&W, used to be standard law enforcement carry weapons due to reliability. In recent decades, semi-auto pistols have replaced the revolver in military and law enforcement applications as modern high tolerance machining has made them more reliable and accurate. They also are a little less bulky and faster to reload by popping in a new magazine. There are also speed loaders available for revolvers. But, if there were only revolvers and no semi-auto pistols I don't see that as having any effect on the problem. The problem is with people and society, not the type of weapon used. A Colt 45 is a semi-auto weapon that used to be standard issue for officers in the military. The older ones are notoriously inaccurate at a distance. Modern 45's by Colt and other manufactures are much more accurate do to the higher tolerances in machining.
I'm not a gun expert, but from what I read the man had the ability to fire off a hundred rounds in minutes with the weapon he had. I don't know if a slower release time would have saved lives since this coward went after the most defenseless people he could find.
What you say about this being a society problem is true but saying relvolvers are just as deadly as high capacity fast firing weapons in the hands of a deranged killer is false.
Now there's a simple request, which i am not equipped to tackle. The unions had the right idea, pay a decent wage that would keep up with a decent standard of living, but are corrupt, corporations are corrupt, politicians are corrupt..ending corruption is the stumbling block. This last election,we had two choices, neither of them worthy of the job. Can we go to dc and change laws,no. Can we vote for someone who will, yes and no. We can vote but but not for a candidate that is there to serve us,dc is our voice and its been bought and sold for decades. Put in laws and watchdogs that will take away those avenues of corruption, outlaw lobbying, campaign funds, make that all supplied by taxes. It would be cheaper to let the politicians air their campaigns on public radio, television. Make it mandatory that anyone in a government job has to have an ongoing running balance sheet of money in, money out ,available to anyone, transparency, sorry necessary part of the job, don't like it,don't go into government job. The 08 mess was supposedly a windfall for the senate and house as bernanke and paulson had the closed door session before tarp and the senate and house dumped their longs and got short, apparently their is a new law(they tried to prosecute bill and hillary so it must have been illegal then) that they can't be prosecuted for insider trading, that basically gave each of them a bribe for letting them push tarp through. Laws are being made daily to escalate this gold rush. Start at the top, follow the money, prosecute. From home, children are this countries future, keepers of the holy grail and a gift to any parent, cherish it,raise them, don't let them be raised by electronics, how could that possibly come out good in the end.
All along I've been saying we need to ban handguns, and rifles with external magazines and rifles with internal magazine that hold more than five rounds. These are the guns the shooter used: a 9 mm 15 round handgun a 9 mm 17 round handgun a .223 rifle with a 30+ clip There is simply no reason for these types of guns in the hands of citizens. A shotgun or rifle like my 30/30 lever action Winchester is perfectly adequate for home defense. Let me be clear. All guns should NOT be banned.
Another point I'd like to make is that the shooter was autistic. Autism and other pyschological problems like severe anxiety are on the rise among the youth. There are now over two hundred man-made chemicals in every one of us and in the breast milk of mothers. Recent experiments on rats show that exposure to a widely used fungicide caused anxiety disorders in the rat's 2nd generation offspring. That means the fungicide caused a genetic change that was passed on to their "grandchildren". So in addition to the possible moral pollution that is being brought up here as a cause, there is environmental pollution. Both can change behavior.
Shit unless you plan on using that rifle as a club it's nearly useless inside. I could shove it up your ass before you knew what happened in either case.
Well, those are still the problem. I suspect a workable solution is beyond our grasp at this time. We're going to have to see the problems stike home so more people are willing to get involved. I honestly believe it is the tolerant, take care of everybody through government mentality of the left that has gotten us into this mess. Decades ago this may have been a noble, but short sighted, cause. People who think this way have done it so long that they are in a rut. The rut is continuing to want government to take on increasing roles of caring and tolerance. We are past the breaking point with this line of thinking and collapse and pain for a large segment of society has to happen for us to change course. People like mrbill and others are not bad people. They just have been in the rut of supporting the government nanny state and tolerance and they haven't seen any pain or reason to get out of that rut. Until they do, we will continue down this path. Until the pain becomes unbearable for the majority we will trudge along. Personally, I think we are very close to experiencing a painful collapse because of these short sighted policies. The structure of govenment may have to be remodeled as a result. Political promises to, in effect, buy votes cannot continue.
