Assent

  1. Can anyone confirm if Warrior Trading, LLC which was shut down by the SEC was a subsidiary of Assent?

  2. There is nothing to figure about about CBSX. The structure is solid. I highly recommend JC Trading. They have been around longer than most and have been a sponsor here for years with only positive comments. Full disclaimer...I trade there.

  3. I'm in the Chimera main office in New York (Park and 18th). I would assume the same is true for the LA and Boston offices and remote traders.

I believe the previous Chimera trader was correct, Anvil will be available after 6/30 at specific offices that "used to be" Assent.

I am sure there is way more to come on this front, but my sources indicate Anvil will live on.

it is a sad day for traders. assent has great traders and a great system. to bad management is the pits. this business needs a real player to step in a do it right. i heard previous owners of assent were there when the news went out. BRING BACK THE OLD DAYS.....WHEN THE TRADER CAME FIRST. i hear the old owners are putting together the DREAM TEAM...lets go...we need a real place to trade...i am looking and see no place in site.

  8. Perhaps. But the developer who created Anvil resigned.
What good is a software without it's creator?
On top of that you're still using a product that is owned by Sungard, which is bad news.

One of the developers working on the system resigned, but he was only working on back-end development for the last 2-3 years. In fact, I previously compensated this developer to help me build drivers and filter apps. I actually tried to hire him to do API and GUI work, NEITHER OF WHICH HE WAS INTERESTED IN.

Most of the Development for Anvil was done in either India or through other Assent developers for the past 18+ months.

The old owners of Assent have compiled 2-3 excellent developers, but they are starting from scratch and it will take months and months to build a new system. If they come out any faster, its because they stole the software and it will surely mean legal battles up the yin-yang for them. The only "dream" they are putting together is the concept that they can have a brand new trading system created and running in 2-3 months. Why dont we all just do it then?!?!

Anvil is NOT DEAD, if you dont believe this contact your Assent rep or even better, call the Head of Assent. He just told me that Anvil will live on under a new company. Anyone saying any different is either named Mike Picozzi or Bill Meyers, or working for one of them. They are well aware of how dangerous keeping Anvil will be, going so far as to make a deal with the current President and then breaking it at th la

It will be my pleasure not to have to deal with Sungard anymore too!! There margin rules and general attitide towards the pro-trader is absolutely horrible, I am surprised that brokerages or Institutions would even work with them. I guess thats why they have the worst turnover ratio in the business

Not if its licensed to a new company. Why would Sungard keep money in their back pocket if they could sell it (which they obviously can)?
