It is unfortunate to hear of the news. Assent is one of the few places in Atlanta to go prop. Best wishes to all the Assent traders. I don't doubt they'll land on their feet. I have been perfecting my equity trading for a while, and have begun talking to a few people around town about going prop. All spoke highly of traders at Assent, and the platform. Noone spoke of management, so I don't know much about them. And I guess now it doesn't matter much. I am using Lightspeed (retail) and like the platform. It has issues but fits my style of trading very well. I considered trading retail at Assent but the $100/mo for a VPN connection to trade remote tilted the balance to Lightspeed. If anyone would care to share news pertaining to the outcome of the Atlanta office, feel free to PM me. I'm not afraid of sitting for the 7, but would like to be on Lightspeed or Anvil.
So does anyone know some of the other firms (BD's) that currently use Anvil that might still be able to use Anvil after the end of June? -Guru
truely a disappointment. the QA group at assent made anvil rock solid. there isnt another platform out there with the "pro" style trade desk except for redi.
a few thoughts. I'm not real familair with the firms that join exchanges for leverage but i believe a trader must fill out the u-4 and be finger printed just like a regular series 7 trader but needs no license. this must allow the prop shop to overide the commission. maybe don bright can expand on this and its legitimacy.what is the difference in this type of prop and being licensed?also will assent be keeping there technology back office to service the platform of anvil or will each broker/dealer using it have to provide there own infrastructure. if its the later that could be a big problem with realiability.
At the end of the day, who wants to deal with all the structures, llc and cbsx trying to figure out what can and can't be done. Just get a series 7 and be a with a solid firm . i do my business with such. no worries none
So will the Prop traders get their money back? And is it true that we have untill 6/30? Hard to get any info from assent. No one is answering the phones.
Can anyone list the branch locations of Assent that are no longer in operation? Which locations are left?
Is that a branch office, or do you trade remotely? If it's a branch, what city? As far as you know, will you not be affected by the rumored 6/30 cutoff date for anvil?
