Aspiring Currency Trader Looking for Opportunities

    What do you know about currency derivatives? Do you understand interest rate swaps? Do you realize that 90% of currency trading now is OTC derivatives. Do you understand exotics? Banks don't make directional bets Johnny. They either make a market or manage a derivatives book. To trade currencies you really need to have a very good understanding of interest rates, FRA's, swaps and even swaptions. If you don't, forget it. I mean seriously, you are barking up the wrong tree.

    If you want to trade spot, sign up with one of these bucket shops and get 400 to 1 margin or go prop with some cash. These guys will literally humiliate you in an interview. I swear to God, you will leave that interview never wanting to work in this industry again. It seems to be that you are not very well prepared or qualified.

    Yes I guess you're right.....I appreciate your honesty and explanation I see I do need to educate myself in much greater depth.....
