Ask the doctors: How much fruit can I eat and stay within the sugar guidelines?

  1. So its the compression of the juicing that is the issue? Not just mechanically breaking the fruit down like in a Nutribullet?

  2. I may have been Anthony Robbins brainwashed but when I read 'Unlimited Power' 20 years ago,he had me doing fruit juice first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.

    I havent kept up with the research on that idea but at the time his well researched ideas on how useless fruit was after food was in the stomach i.e across the day,made a lot of sense.

    The focus was on energy and I remember him saying something like "have a car but not a juicer?? sell the car,buy a juicer!!" hahaha

  3. Juicing excludes the fiber. Fiber slows down the digestive process and has health benefits beyond just the slowing of digestion. It is also a prebiotic. Whole foods.

  4. I use this sort of thing:

    So nothing is discarded.Pulp and everything consumed but in a drinkable form.

    I remember the old school juicers though where the pulp had to be dug out at the end and binned.

  5. Looks pretty good, and I'm sure there's nothing wrong with it, since it includes the whole food. But as I posted to the Cap'n, I prefer to chew my food. Takes me longer, so my consumption is less likely to overshoot my appetite. Plus, I just like chewing. There's something to be said for chewing satisfaction. :D

    (Although my lunch is a homemade milkshake.)

    Have a juicer myself and a Nutribullet too. I use the Nutribullet most times. Fiber included and not thrown away like in juicing. The nutrients are in the fiber. A woman selling the Vitamix blenders in Costco told me not to throw out the hard middle part of the pineapple because the nutrients are there. Instead, blend it with the rest of the pineapple when you make a smoothie.

    THAT sounds right;
    even though peeling fruit maybe a lot less helpful or to use a play on words\ less ''fruitful'' LOL:D:D
    I like to wash it well;
    i used to wash apples in a stainless pot .
    Until one day the chemicals off that actually ate thru the stainless steel bottom =hard to believe but thats the power of a water wash + unwanted chemicals .............................................:caution::caution:

    Apples and pears, I peel. The reason being the insecticides they spray on it. I do not want to eat it if I can help it. You will still get the fiber from the apples and pears even if peeled.

    All big fruits/vegetables/grains farmers use insecticide/pesticide.
    That's why fruits/vegetables/grains look beautiful and big.

    If I go travelling to a small town/village,
    I will buy local produce fruits/vegetables/grains from the small farmers.
    The fruits/vegetables/grains look very ugly but is free from insecticide/pesticide.
    Small farmers are unable to buy insecticide/pesticide.
