Asian daytrading makes a comeback

  1. Sampson, patoo,

Not wishing to rain on your desire to add value to yet another thread in ET ... but ... just in case you don't realise ... you are not adding value :(

Patoo ,,, if you can't see the chart on her screen then you need glasses or should stop trading. Or maybe u should stop looking at her for just a sec :)

And your objection to her flower is just sexist ... in fact her flower power may just make her a better trader that you (ref testosterone's effect on male impulsiveness).

  2. LOL. Sampson, you too need glasses. The girl in the picture is the day trader. The woman named in the article is the vendor. Names are different.

And as to who drove the Nikkei up ... would you rather trade a dull sideways market or a trending market driven up by thousands of people looking just like the woman in the photo?

  3. LOL

Actual me pointing out the FACT that she is a VENDOR and refused to show any PROOF of actual trades is of value in my opinion, that is of course if you would like to believe a story as real or if you would prefer to just assume it's validity.

Secondly patoo brings up a good point she is hardly set up to be trading 2k into 1M with a simple 15" screen laptop and yahoo charts it just isn't going to happen !!!!

  4. Fine like I said maybe I missed something in the article and that may make sense.

I never questioned that it wasn't happeneing but I do not believe the article is accurate and I'm sure housewives with 15" laptops are NOT the ones trading this market up.

I'm sure there are many Daytraders doing well there right now but it's NOT little miss Maple zumy...:)

I have a friend that trades the Asian markets everyday and he does well BUT he's been trading for 5 years.

  5. Hi Def. On IB website the exchange trading hours for singapore is 7:45 to 19.05 local time. Is there any break or pause between than or it is contineously like in the USA? And second question is 1 tick = $25 or $21.

Either Def or anyone can answer if you know. Thanking you in advance.

The future multiplier for SGXNK is 500 yen. The minimum tick is 5 on sgx or 2500 yen which is now roughly equal to $21, so yes, you are correct. Full specs can be found here:

But I would like to she her to it again, when it aint that easy. Like the Nikkei is not playing a skyrocket.

AND ya got me. I got a thang for Asians :D

She probably just lost it in the correction. New retail investors tend not to keep the money they make - ride it all the way up and then ride it all the way down.

  9. Can anybody tell me where to find a benchmark bond future for Korea and it's ticker (IB or eSignal would be perfect)?

If there's a real crack out there, the thai equivalent would be cool too, only I doubt eSignal would have it.

Don't want to trade it, just monitor...
