My exact thought after watching the above. How did high speed rail not get funded w/infra & "green spending"?
Pretty sure all the metro commuter lines use that technique. Although NY is a bit more refined, and has been for years. LIRR for the win. https://geogee.wordpress.com/2014/02/15/the-long-island-railroads-answer-to-frozen-rails-is-fire/
The more the better. The atmosphere needs more diesel particulates in it. It builds tolerance in children's lungs so they can smoke later in life. Altria for the win.
Nationwide ground stop in effect for all U.S. flights. Apparently due to an FAA computer glitch. >>> Does that mean the airlines can hit the DOT with fines now? "What's good for the goose..."
It may be related a massive cyber attack or a capabilities test by a foreign power. I have experienced 3 computer glitches on 3 separate computer systems in the last 6 hours, including a large corporate network. The corporate network was not responsive for about 30 minutes. I entered a trade and the confirmation contained multiple data errors. The startup messaging on one of my iOS devices was missing one of the messages. If the market starts looking weak, I will buy a crash lottery ticket.
"The outage comes as a result of the failure of the FAA's NOTAM (Notice to Air Missions) system". The FAA has now ordered a ground stop across the country. It is not known when the system will be restored. It is not clear yet if this system failure was simply due to a hardware/software fault or due to malicious hacker activity. Major FAA outage halts all domestic flight departures in the U.S. The Federal Aviation Administration said it had "ordered airlines to pause all domestic departures until 9 a.m. Eastern Time to allow the agency to validate the integrity of flight and safety information." Doh!
