  1. Armed Tennessee woman crashes car into White House security barrier after trying to scale the fence last year

A Tennessee woman who tried to break into the White House last year was armed with a gun on Friday when she slammed her car into a security barrier near the western entrance of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., authorities said.

Jessica R. Ford, of La Vergne, Tennessee, was arrested after she intentionally crashed her van into a barrier at the corner of E and 17th Streets in Washington D.C., U.S. Secret Service said.

Ford, who tried to scale the White House fence last year, was carrying a pistol without a license, police said.

The 35-year-old sparked a lockdown at the White House and was quickly arrested after failing to breach the security barrier, Secret Service said. No law enforcement officers were injured.

President Trump wrapped up a joint news conference with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in the East Room minutes before the crash sparked a lockdown.

Reporters described an initially chaotic scene as heavily-armed Secret Service agents rushed to the site of the crash.

Ford slammed into the barrier at around 2:53 p.m. and tried to accelerate even after her car crashed, according to a police report cited by WSMV.

Responding officers noticed she was holding a gun, and while she was not pointing it at the police, she did not comply with orders to drop the weapon.

Police managed to remove the gun from her hand before pulling her out of the driver’s side window and placing her under arrest.

Ford, who has a history of mental health issues, later told police she “had the BB Gun because if James Burris was the President, the officers would shoot her to protect him and that she knowingly brought the gun with her.”

She faces eight counts, including gun and assault charges along with unlawful entry, criminal contempt of court, and destroying government property.

Ford was arrested three times last year on charges of unlawful entrance or violating a court order to to stay away from the White House, according to court records cited by the Washington Post.

In April, Ford told a Secret Service officer, “I’m going to jump the fence,” before she tried to climb it, according to the arrest affidavit.

She later pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and received psychiatric counseling along with a suspended sentenced of 30 days in jail and a year’s probation.

  2. Good to see- although I have not read in detail- that the Secret Service performed and was prepared here. Like the FBI, they are another former top notch outfit that slid deep, deep, deep into the toilet under the Obama administration- and they still have problems thinking that every overseas assignment they get is actually party and prostitute time for them. Hopefully Kelly will help them to restore themselves to a higher order.

You read this article and you may think, "okay, another loon stopped at the gate, whatever." But just reflect back to when Mooch was in the White House and they had some loon make it all the way up to the second floor.

Instead of shouldering her healthcare needs which Trump withdrew, we'll pay for her private incarceration which Trump supported.
