got the bugs work out of using iqfeed with multicharts seems there are some setting in the global server that have to be turned off to get history. now that i have history and rithmic for order entry things are taking shape. i have a model that dying to turn on auto trade, i have tried this before with ib and multicharts and didn't work too well because of ib's snapshot data and having to translate between ib and tradestation data i was using. now with iqfeed i have all the nyse , cboe stats that i need and history. i will still have to now test the translation mapping in order to use iqfeed for the signals and rithmic for the order execution. i have also thought just use rithmic with whatever paltry amount of data which is about one day of tick data lol, and run the model with that.
Well Mark...I have to say that paying for Rithmic data is like an oxymoron....they should be paying us just to take the data ! I have to say that with my 12+ months experience with DTN/IQFeed, I've never had <any> outages, and it's rarely missed a tick. The only problem has been around Emini expiration...and contract rollover.
Got a phone call from AMP yesterday probably due to no activity in my account and today I have been disconnected. Good thing I am disciplined and seasoned not to jump right into the fire with a new trading firm till I have experienced some of the good and bad. They have been really good but I think what caused my disconnection from Rithmic is coinciding with the monthly data feed fees etc. So I am wondering if this is going to be a monthly shutdown of my account. WTF if I was in the middle of a trade and this happened. Setting here dead waiting to be able to login to Rithmic account.
We would never disable an active account. In order to maintain live connection, you must maintain account balance of at least 100 USD (equivalent) or If you do not login during the month, we disable to avoid billing for the next month if you are not logging in (then you can re-enable when you are ready to start trading again) PM your AMP Account number and we will confirm
good to know that i will not be disabled if i have trades on thanks for that. i did pm and they had me as using tt not rithmic, i was asked several times was i sure i was not using tt. granted if rithmic does not prove reliable i may switch to tt. as far as being logged in i was logged in since i opened the account every single day testing. finally they got whatever was wrong fixed but it is unnerving to see the data feed stop and my login credentials being denied. message was "login failed please contact administrator" so i would really like to know this isn't going to happen again next month. whether i am using it or not as long as i have money in the account and paying data feeds i should not be cut off for at least those reasons. update still my account is frozen - the data feed is working but can't broker login.
