No! I think it has to do with the integrated graphics chip, but who the F*ck knows? Now I use the laptop as a (sub)desktop machine with a monitor plugged in and the laptop under the table(on a small table) to hide the noise. Seems to work. And if I need more screen real estate I just bring up the laptop and open it up. Pretty nice setup actually. I was getting tired of keeping two computers updated and now I can always just unplug the peripherals and move with the laptop. On a related note, I think trading on laptop bites because you have to be looking down at the screen vs a large screen seperate monitor. And that just sucks for your posture. I would go with the new XPS laptops with premium sound If I were you. And try an SSD for super quick startup and shutdowns. http://www.dell.com/us/p/xps-17/pd.aspx
beside moving power button to its side and do away with cd eject button, its a solid laptop no noise.
