very misleading graphic, averaging over trumps whole presidency includes initial covid shutdown. without that likely he would have the best or close to best average
What's misleading is, if any credit is given to a President (don't know why really), then the prior President should get some for leaving things in better shape than they came in - if they did. But when it is a change in parties, extremely biased politics can't let folks do that.
Ultimately, I am pretty sure this is mostly demographics and caused by aging baby boomers https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CIVPART The trend was happening well before Covid and would have to think that is mostly baby boomers retiring. There aren't enough restaurant and hotel workers because there are too many hotels and restaurants . That could probably be said about most sectors. I can't even remember the last time there was a major bankruptcy. This is an economy with a high percent of redundant capacity zombie companies bitching that there are not enough workers. A side effect of a decade plus with capital being far too cheap so that even people who couldn't operate a garage sale are now "entrepreneurs" .
Stop making so much money Ken. You're going to ruin it for the rest of us if you keep flaunting it so much.
I agree, although we are back to the same total number of people working, the demographic bomb is going off. I will add though that the attitudes of gen z and the younger cohort are not exactly encouraging. Parents and schools are failing
All the more reason why we need to build more robots. We should see what is depicted in the movie "I, Robot" happening irl.
